Been so long since I hacked it, but I believe I messing around with what modifies damage I should have looked up more on the log but I didn't. Does your code kill bosses in 1 hit or does it suffer from the same symptoms as mine?Originally posted by Abystus View PostWell at least our addresses are close. Was there a reason you didn't modify the branch at 06EF70 like my above code?Spoiler Alert! Click to view...

I didn't actually test against bosses (don't have the patience to sit through till I get to one). It does slaughter chickens in town though (something you can't normally do in-game). I would assume it would work against any boss without shielding to destroy first. Hopefully Phil gives it a good testing.Originally posted by helder View PostBeen so long since I hacked it, but I believe I messing around with what modifies damage I should have looked up more on the log but I didn't. CRACKdown, I thought you recently learned how to convert your codes to Game Genie codes? Or am I thinking of another person, can't remember.
You been making some nice codes, good job.Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

Thanks Oldschool! Encouragement is always welcome. I mostly stick to RAM codes cause I can get most of what I want done that way, though I know the possibilities are wider in the ROM. Maybe someday I'll start looking into them more.
I didn't see this game listed in either database so I don't know if it goes by a different name, or just nobody has hacked it yet? Anyway...

Yes, I will, and thanx for the effort.Originally posted by Abystus View PostI never found the code "One Hit Kills" by helder created for this game. I have created a "One Hit Kills" alternative for you to try out:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (U) GG [SNES]
I tested with a few different swords against normal enemies (that would require more than 2 hits to kill, and even Chickens!), but I did not encounter any bosses during my tests. Maybe you could do some further testing with it to see if it gives you any issues. Let me know how it works for you.Code:One Hit Kills 6D35-ADF8
Helder's code for one-hit kills, B431-A4B8, is in the SNES GG database.
I shall reply some time tomorrow AM with the results of testing your code on ZSNES. Again, THANX!I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.

I tested it on ZSNES 1.51 with the common (U) Zelda rom, with no codes on for amped-up swords, etc.and it worx fine with the Uncle's swd. and master swd., duplicating the effects of the "Modify Enemy Health" codes with the value set at 00. It doesn't work with the "Blind The Thief" boss, who seems immune to all such codes, nor does it work with the fire head of Trinexx, nor with Ganon, but otherwise it worx perfectly, with the emu and rom I tested it on. 'Tis an excellent code IMO.
And again, THANX for the effort! Perhaps I can get my friends who request codes to write this forum themselves.I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.
