I'm almost certain I know what the problem is, but I won't say due to the answer being extremely snarky and rather completely true.

I have some network problem with ps2rd v0.5 I am unable to connect to it at all...
v0.4 works fine with the same config but it just won't connect to v0.5 at all the cheat engine is working I have tried everything I can think of but it just won't connect...
I am using a v9 SCHP-50002 console with hdd/network adapter SCPH-10350 if you can think of any reason why v0.4 works and v0.5 won't or anything I can try to get it to work please let me know!

Well, Jimmi and I found some time to develop version 0.5 of ps2rd. In this release, we significantly improved network transfer rates and game compatibility by optimizing/replacing code on the IOP side.
So the good news are that ps2rd isn't dead, but there will be a longer-than-usual release cycle.
See my blog entry: http://debugon.org/2009/12/ps2rd-0-5/

Best of luck with the outside world, misfire.
I have zero time in my last year of college and can't help myself but I'd really hate to see Artemis die..
It's awesome, I'm looking forward to it!

Despite Artemis being incomplete, it's rather an impressive piece of software.

I think Artemis is a GREAT endeavor that should be kept going, there are many games for which I would love to eventually be able to hack my own codes for so you guys wouldn't have to do all the work. LB, Jimi, misfire and all the other developers have done such a AWESOME job so far and I know you guys will only discover more ways to make Artemis better and your work will not be in vain. This a breakthrough that will help many, including myself to hack their own codes. Thanks so much for everything and keep up the good work. If you need a break for awhile thats fine, then just refocus and get to it. I know you guys can do it!

thank you misfire.
for your work at xploderfreax and project artemis but most for your sentence "hacking needs to be free"
for me it means we need to be free do things we decide to do and it is not depending from others or what they think about it.
if others like what you do it is a great gift but it is more important you like what you do.
freedom is the abillity to decide what we want to do and to do it with the bottom of our hearts.
i hope things in real live will clear up for you and you find the freedom to do things you like to do for you.

I hope everything works out for you, misfire.
Your work is appreciated. I have been unable to test Artemis out due to a broken PS2 (power ribbon detached), but that will change in the near future. I'm sure a lot of people are interested in the project, its just getting the necessary items to run the software that is stopping them. The lack of a GUI might also be the reason. Some people need visual stimulation in order to do/use something, rather than do it mentally.
As for the reason on doing it, do it for you before thinking about anybody else. That might sound harsh, but you have to be that way sometimes. Some people want this or that, but don't want to take the time out to get it for themselves. If it's useful for you, it will eventually be useful for another. If code X is not hacked, then it might never be. Personally, I hack for myself. Requesting X code over the years and never seeing anything can be aggravating.
Like I said before, your work is appreciated. From your helpful docs on XploderFreax to Artemis, you have helped the scene a lot.Last edited by Hacc; 10-29-2009, 12:02:23 PM.

Thank you !
First of all, we ALL must thank you.
No matter what will happen, you have done an amazing work !
You're wondering about the project.
Is it useless ? Am I wasting my time ? Does someone know all the work I've done ?
If I die *now*, who will remember my name ?
Why have you started this project ?
Are you proud of it ?
>YES, you have to be proud !
Don't leave us thinking you have lost your time, it's false.
Thanks to you, many people can hack PS2 cheats and more (for instance studying PS2 programming, networking...etc) and do what they like.
To everybody : please don't blame him.
We all know that there is a *real* life.
Take care of you, you have 1 life (before Game Over ^^)
We can't give up. All those efforts for... nothing ?
Please, please don't delete all.
The project will probably evolve slower than before but it does not matter.
I'm not a 'regular' (at all) developper but I think I'm right.
So thank you, see you soon and take care
NB : Hoping my english is understandable

Last night I finally found the time to finish the renaming/move of my Artemis development branch to ps2rd. The new project site is https://bitbucket.org/misfire/ps2rd/. I decided to simply rename the old repository to keep the issue database, followers, etc. I also created an intermediate version 0.4.2 of ps2rd to give people something to download with the new name. No bug fixes or new features.
I really don't know when I can return to actual development. It's true that Jimmi and I achieved a lot in the last months, and that it would certainly be a mistake to stop at this point. But as indicated earlier, I got some real life problems that need to be solved first.
Anyway, thank you for all comments on the break. This really means a lot to me.

Sad to see you go, Misfire. I believe your work was more appreciated than you think it was...
I hope you decide to drop back by and assist in the development of Artemis when your IRL issues are resolved.
