  • This code kicked my ass. It was almost at the end of the 9th round and it had me up against the ropes and was knocking the shit out of me. Right before the ref was going to call a TKO, I figured it out and won the fight. So much trouble for such a simple code. lol.

    Shining Force 2 (Genesis)

    BAAT-EA3W
Can buy anything in the shops, even if you don't have any money. Note that the cost of the item will still be subtracted from your total if you have enough, but even if you don't have any money, you can still buy it.

      • ^i will try it later!

anyways, about Ristar, i actually use September 1994 and i also use the different code- Cheat Enabled Modifier

FFFE04:1F- FEEL (Stage Select, Show Hidden Item Grab Points, And Invincibility Active All At Once) it works fine with your Super moon jump code.

        • Sly Hedgehog, I just added the extra notes to my Ristar codes here in the new db. I also re-tested my Ristar Invincibility codes: They work on both versions of the game, and they work perfectly on either Kega Fusion or Gens.

Can cast magic spells, even if you don't have enough MP.

All characters that join your party (including Bowie) will have learned and can use AURA 4, ATLAS 2, and BOLT 4 spells, as well as any spell they normally start with. Note that some characters will also have a "HIGINS" spell, which I believe is just a glitch spell (doesn't appear to do anything). Codes MUST be entered at the start of a new game. You can modify the first 2 codes to include any spells you want.

Tony, awhile back, you found some button codes in the shining force 2 rom, battle options, and managed to activate it with a GG code
were you ever able to find Start anywhere in the game code or Battle Select code?
do they even exist, or just a rumor?

I just searched the ROM for the "Start Anywhere" and "Battle Select" controller cheats and didn't find them. For my search, I used the same format as the other controller cheats that are known to be good.

Either both of those controller cheats are fake (or wrong), or they use a different format (which is unlikely).

Another thing I noticed, I couldn't find the regular "Battle" cheat (not the "Battle Select" cheat) anywhere online. I know that one works because I found it in the ROM, and the Game Genie code I made for it works fine. It's been so long that I don't remember which site I found it at. It's UUDUBCRLUUDUBCRL.

                • Made some new SF2 Game Genie codes that make the battle cheats always active.

One interesting note is that for each one of the codes below, I found another "Test" for the "Battle Cheat" RAM address in the assembly trace. This means that there might be 2 more unknown things that the battle cheat does. I will look into it when I get time.

                  Shining Force 2

                  RFKA-A60W
Press B to walk thru buildings, mountains, etc. Works anytime except during battles.

                  RGPT-A60L
Battle cheat is always available. When you get close enough to attack an enemy, choose the attack or magic option. When the enemy is highlighted, hold down START and press C. A small box will appear in the upper right hand corner. You can change the number in this box by pressing LEFT or RIGHT. Select the number you want and press C. 00 = Attack any enemy/character (128 = Boss), 01 = Cast any spell on any enemy/character, 02 = Use any item on any enemy/character, 03 = Not sure (seems to give you exp without attacking), 04 = Makes character explode (damages anyone nearby), 05 = Gives a funny message, 06 = Prism Laser. For more details about what the numbers do, look here under Battle Options: http://sf2.shiningforcecentral.com/p...ets_codes.html

I don't make Gameboy codes anymore. Although, I still have a Gameboy and a Game Genie for it, so maybe sometime in the future I'll start making codes for it again.

                      • I did some more checking on the "Battle Cheat" stuff for Shining Force 2. Found some interesting things, but eventually gave up. I'm going to post what I found in case someone else wants to try and find out what else this controller cheat does.

The RAM address that is changed when you press the correct buttons at the SEGA screen is FFB0A9. Setting this to any value other than 00 will activate the Battle cheat. If you do a memory trace for FFB0A9 when walking in towns, there are two ROM addresses that are reading/testing that RAM address. I already figured out one of them and made a code for it. The other one I haven't been able to figure out. Here it is from an asm trace: $00:50C6 4A 38 TST.B ($B0A9). I followed the conditional branch and the first thing it does (I think) is check to see if you are pressing the "B" button on controller 1. After that, it's hard for me to tell what's going on. Hope someone can figure it out.

There are also two ROM addresses that are reading/testing that RAM address while in battle. I figured out one of them (and made a code for it), but haven't looked into the other one yet.

Master Code (improved). Use this code if you get a blank screen and the game won't run. This code also makes the game load faster.
