      • Thanks!

Let me repost my request again so you don't have to go back to look for it:

It's for the Genesis game Warrior of Rome 2. It's a strategy game (like Fire Emblem/Advance Wars) and I was wondering if you could make a Game Genie code to automatically beat a map. It doesn't matter if it's by making the enemies have 0 energy or by some other kind of trick, but something that let's me 'beat' a map with the code on.

To attack an enemy, just Start the game, move the cursor/box down and left to the "command" window. Select "Advance", it will ask you to move which troop. Now put the cursor/box on top of the red flags (there should be 4) and you can now move out the troops. Just move them to the top of the map where the enemies are at. The enemies should attack you automatically.

You can see your troops' and the enemies energy on the bottom of the screen. Bear in mind that the energy address is probably recycled between enemies (or your own troops), so if you kill one, that address will probably be used for another enemy.

Also, here's another possible method to get what I need

If you kill all the enemies or if you let your troops get killed, you won't automatically win or lose the map. You have to destroy the big building/main base to win or lose. So I'm thinking that if you let your troops get killed and then you destroy your own central building (by going to the bottom-left menu, selecting DEMOLISH and targeting your main base), you'll get the "You lose" screen. My guess is that the "You win" address should be right next to that one, so if you can find the address that triggers the "You lose" screen, you find the other one too.

I think this should be the first method to try.

        • It looks like the game uses DMA for the timer addresses for pits opening and closing. T-Mek 32x appeared to use it a lot. Makes it interesting.

These should be the last of the Pitfall 32x codes. Will work on Warrior of Rome 2 tomorrow.

          • @Tony - If you want I'd appreciate it, but I'm in no rush. I have a friend who might want to see the ending for himself. I just need someway to beat the opponent.

No luck with that code. As soon as I fired it up, I remembered the game from before when I made codes for it. Difficult game to figure out, which makes codes difficult to make.

              • So that second method didn't work? I can tell you how to lose quickly if you need to trigger that scene. I'm sure the "you win" address/value is right next to the "you lose" one.

                • The problem with that method is that we don't know what the starting value is, and we don't know what the ending value is. We could "assume" the starting value would be zero, and the ending value for codes like that are usually 01 or FF, but searching for zero and then losing the game and searching for "Not equal to previous" turns up way to many results.

                  • Got it... thanks for trying though. I guess I'll never be able to see the ending to this game.

Actually playing it is out of the question, unless I have some sort of infinite energy cheat :P

                    • Hey, Tony. I have a request for a Genesis game, Sesame Street Counting Cafe. I'm trying to do a VGM set and am either looking for a song modifier or a way to disable the sound effects. I'd appreciate it!

                      • Doommaster, I've never really been interested in making sound or music codes so have never really bothered to learn how to make them. I did take a quick look at the Z80 debug feature in Gens and found something very interesting. Look at the instruction highlighted in red...

I wonder if "FUCK" is a legitimate instruction. lol.

Anyways, if I get time, I may look into your music request, but no guarantees.

EDIT: For those that don't know, the Z80 controls the sound chips.

                        • I've seen the word FUCK on several Japanese games, usually hidden. I don't know if that means something else over there though...

                          • Thanks, I'd appreciate that! If it helps any, I think they're 00 (off) and FF (on) codes. I found the cheat in Hurricanes for the Mega Drive to turn off/on the music and sound. Only exception is the title screen where there's the sound of a soccer ball being kicked. As for the music selection, I think it's something like 00, 01, 02, etc. each number representing a song.

Walk thru walls, rocks, trees, spikes, etc. If you are walking thru walls, rocks etc, you can get up to the top of whatever you're in by tapping the jump button until you jump out of the top.

                              ----------

This game seems to handle walking thru walls better than some other games. It's the only game I can recall that lets you walk into rocks (or whatever), and "Jump" up out of the top. Kind of cool.

                              • There's a controller cheat in this game that I am stuck on. If you press A, B, A, C, A, B while in the Option screen, you'll hear a chime telling you it was successful. It then changes the value in RAM addresses FF005C and FF005D to FF, as well as a few other changes. Those RAM addresses are read from at the Start screen for starting level, but have not been able to figure out the rest.
