I'm having trouble thinking of anymore Genesis games that could benefit from a "Shoot thru walls" code. The Code Hut: http://codehut.gshi.org/

Not that I think it's extremely needed, but I believe cyclops eye beam stops when it hits a wall in X-Men.

I've never played this game before. Looks pretty good. Will probably make a few more codes for it.Originally posted by Mezmorize View PostNot that I think it's extremely needed, but I believe cyclops eye beam stops when it hits a wall in X-Men.

Wow the Genesis hacking guru has never played X-Men? O.oOriginally posted by Tony Hedstrom View PostI've never played this game before. Looks pretty good. Will probably make a few more codes for it.

It's one of my favorite games for the system.
Thanks for the awesome code!
Do you think it would be possible to also make the laser continue on after killing an enemy?
It would be awesome to take out multiple enemies in a row with just one shot.

I was thinking the same thing. I actually re-read it a second time to make sure I read it correctly. X-Men for the Genesis is a must play. A top 20 Genesis game in my opinion.Wow the Genesis hacking guru has never played X-Men? O.o
It's one of my favorite games for the system. Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

Didn't have any luck. Might try again later, but if anybody else wants to give it a shot, please do.Originally posted by Mezmorize View PostWow the Genesis hacking guru has never played X-Men? O.o

I'll check it out a little later.Originally posted by Unicode View Post@Tony Hedstrom, you can make some codes for 3D Tetris game "Block Out"? There are really no GG codes made for this Sega Genesis game.Last edited by Tony H; 04-15-2013, 06:12:00 PM.The Code Hut: http://codehut.gshi.org/

Oh well, thanks for trying!
I tried to make it myself before going to bed yesterday, I only managed to make the laser go thru the enemy and not do any damage.

Some of the codes you come up with when testing can be interesting. I had one that made Cyclops fire his laser every time you made him walk left or right. But as you know, these useless codes help you better understand how the game is programmed, so they're not a complete waste.Originally posted by Mezmorize View PostOh well, thanks for trying!

X-men (Genesis)
AVTT-AA9A +
DKWT-AA6Y +

Walk thru walls and rocks when moving Right. Note that you may fall when walking thru walls/rocks. Works on all characters.
==========
This code was a little time consuming, so have not made a WTW code for moving Left yet. Actually, not even sure that a WTW code for moving Left is really that necessary.
UPDATE: If you want to save code space, you can use the first code by itself (AVTT-AA9A). This will let you jump thru most walls/rocks, but not walk thru.Last edited by Tony H; 04-16-2013, 01:04:26 PM.The Code Hut: http://codehut.gshi.org/

Do you use MESS Tony? Sometimes looking at the registers and seeing what is being compared before the branch can lead to better WTW codes. I have been doing this lately for those troublesome games like that Pier Solar game.
Edit: I took a look at this game and I used the method of checking all the compares and what writes to what and found a value that is used to add and subtract from the room size and your location then messing around with it I traced it back to a Ram location and I got this for a GG code and PAR code which is a first time I have done a RAM WTW code:
GG
Walk Through Walls
HVSA-BAMR
ABSA-BB5T
PAR
Walk Through Walls
FFD628:F000
You will fall through most walls since there is no floor, but you could just jump through the wall.Spoiler Alert! Click to view...
THE BAD GUY!!!!!!
