They usually are different. Just one of those rare games that didn't change that bit of the code to a different location.

I also don't recall ever needing to hold buttons to do a full dump, all I had to do was press them and depending on how much I was dumping there was either no pause or else there was a momentary pause and then resume after a short time.

So the codes for Dynasty Warriors 5 did work for you? If so, did you enter them in as RAW codes?

I didn't try Dynasty Warriors 5. When I did live dumping with Resident Evil 4 there was either no pause, a tiny bit of lag, or pauses that last for a while depending on how much data I was dumping.

Oh, well, any chance that you could try doing a dump for Dynasty Warriors 5 with those codes? So that I know, if it worked for you and not me, I have most likely made a typo somewhere in the codes.

My PS2 is at a friend's, and I'm not going to be seeing that thing again in quite a while. I haven't used it in over a year.

Oh, ok. I'll just do it myself then. Just need to make sure that I don't make any typos.

Noticing that I had wrong joker address (D031BF58) for the Dynasty Warriors 5 dump code, I used a working one (D031BE1C). But the problem now is, when I pressed R3 while doing a gameplay on the "The Yellow Turban Rebellions" map, the game froze and nothing else happened. I didn't have the CMP dump files on my memory card, but are they really necessary? I used ARMAX and added the codelist including those codes to it, so that I don't have to type in that long code (memcard sub).

So the game froze? It should only stay frozen for no more than 10 minutes if you are doing a full dump. Either:

                  1. The code is wrong somehow.

                  2. The game just won't work with live dumping.

                  3. It's set to dump more than there is enough space for on the memory card.

                  4. You didn't wait long enough. I don't know the exact amounts of time taken, but I used to do 7MB dumps and they took less than 10 minutes.

                    1. The code is wrong somehow.
Don't ask me as I would have no idea if it's either correct or wrong.

                    2. The game just won't work with live dumping.
                    Would suck if that's true.

                    3. It's set to dump more than there is enough space for on the memory card.
                    I have a MAX 16 MB memory card, so I don't think it's that.

                    4. You didn't wait long enough. I don't know the exact amounts of time taken, but I used to do 7MB dumps and they took less than 10 minutes.
I didn't know how long I had to wait, so I thought the game was completely frozen.

All I did was starting a stage, once the stage had started I pressed R3 and the game froze, so I didn't know if the game was completely frozen or was dumping.

Make sure you set the game to dump an amount of data that you have room for on the memory card. The PS2 has 32MB of RAM total to dump, so set it to dump an amount that you actually have as free space on the memory card.
