I think it was also ported to jaguar, but there's no cheat devices for it.

If its for the snes I can take a look and if anyone wants a challenge try making a real WTW code for breath of fire 2 for snes, hell if anyone can make a PAR code for the horizontal or vertical location it should be a piece of cake. This games seems to move the background and not the characters but I await anyone posting any results.

'Light Crusader - Sega Genesis' has moved to the top of my mapping list so if you could do that game I'd be extremely grateful, was one of my favorite games growing up.

Ooh a challenge.......Try these quickies for the US version, not sure if there are any side effects though.

@ Helder: Are you hacking these codes for 16-bit and less systems only? If you are willing to venture into PSX land and more, that would be great. I see a lot of these codes for PSX games. I've been looking into hacking these for a number of games that could use them for further exploration.

I'm sure they are doable for any system but having a trace feature really makes it alot easier, is there any good emulator with a trace or good debugging for the psx? basically in the hacks I am avoiding the hit a wall routine therefore we can walk all over.

Ok so how did you go about finding it? all I could muster was the damn background moving, but it was still actually there and the code works great but there are some obstacles like trees and some mountains that you can't walk through, what was the PAR code you used to find the routines? Nice work by the way and if you still need a little more challenge Magic Knight Rayearth is similar in fashion as this game for a WTW code.

I used the same method I use for Invincibility, basically I just reverse trace from when you try to walk through a wall. No PAR codes were made at all to make them - you said that PAR codes weren't possible so I didn't even look (besides I rarely search for PAR/RAM codes to make such cheats). I found the initial ROM cheat in under 3 minutes but it took me a further 30 mins to ensure that you could actually go through doorways rather than just walk across them.

Magic Knight Rayearth might be suitable for WTW codes but as soon as I try to move near walls it seems to warp me to another screen.....just haven't got the patience for RPGs, especially not japanese ones (took ages at the start of the game before I could even move!).

Right but how did you reverse trace if you didnt have a ram code to cause a break on? or am I missing a step here?

As long as you jump to the debugger quickly enough when stuff happens (I use 'gv' in the MESS debugger to advance one frame at a time) then it's relatively straightforward to back trace, I also use my own backtracing aids which speeds that process up considerably.

Yes. I use Agemo's PCSX Debugger and PS2DIS as my hex editor (set it as so in PEC and press Ctrl + J during game play to view the memory). However, you can try any one of these and see how they work out for you.

                            Yet another request from me.

Helder, I know this isn't a walk through walls request, but since you seem to be an advanced cheat maker, I was wondering if you could a make "move anywhere in the stage" code for the SNES game S.O.S (the one where the ship capsizes, not the Sink or Swim one). I would love to experience that great game, but the somewhat horrid control prevents me.

The kind of code I'm talking about is the one where you press any direction in the pad and your character will move that way too, through walls or anything and then when you press a button (or disable the code), your character is dropped in that spot. You usually see these kind of codes in official debug menus.

I manged to make a code that controls the X and Y coordinates, but once I disable the code, the character goes right back to where he originally was. So all I could do was move around the stage, but I couldn't stay in the spot I wanted.

post the X/Y code for me and I will see if I can make something. It also seems like there is a check of sorts to allow you to drop the item in certain locations so if we make it always allow you to drop the character wherever you want.
