    Some "Regional Lockout Bypass" codes...

    Shining Force II

    AB9A-AA8Y
Lets you play the PAL (E) version on a US Genesis console.

Note that you will probably not be able to save your game
while the Game Genie is attached.

Lets you play the (E) PAL version on a US Genesis console.

If I remember corectly, these were both tested on real hardware.

Hey Tony, there's been something new I've been curious about, you know the games that prevent you from saving if you have Game Genie codes on (e.g. Phantasy Star II, Phantasy Star III)? Just wondering, but is it theoretically possible to make a Game Genie code for any of them that still allows you to save the game while other codes are on?

As far as I know, it's a hardware problem, not a software problem... so there is no Game Genie code that would allow you to save your game.

Hi Tony, I can't remember if it was you or someone else that had a GG code for Streets of Rage 2 to make Axel walk slightly faster? If so do you still have that code? I can't find it anywhere? Thanks!

I didn't make that code. I vaguely remember seeing it before, but can't remember where.

Yeah I can't remember what site/forum it was on either, but I know someone posted it. (was a few years ago) I remember a lot of people were asking for the code because they were frustrated how slow Axel walks. Do you think you could come up with a new code to make him walk faster? I been trying but with no luck. What kills me is I use to have it written down but I can't find anywhere. Thanks!

I'm still working on the "walk faster" code, but I've got a couple new codes that I think you'll find entertaining...

                Streets of Rage 2

                ADAT-AALE
High jump. Works on all characters.

                ADAT-BACE
Super high jump. Works on all characters.

                =========================

The "Super high" jump code is pretty fun, especially when jumping diagonally.

Cool Tony! Those high jump codes should be good against those bosses you have to jump kick like the jet pack guy! Yeah that would be so great if you can get that walk faster code! I don't know how I ever lost it in the first place? I keep all my codes in the game cases some how it must of fell out. I guess I'll have to tape them on the inside cover for now on. Thanks again!

I've never really played SoR 2 before, so I've got a question... When you select your character, one of the stats is "speed". Does that effect how fast the player walks, or is that for how fast the character does his/her moves?

Hi Tony, yeah it's both really because blaze walks the fastest and punches the fastest, but her power isn't as good as Axel. Thats why people like to use Axel because his power is better but he is just slightly slower than blaze.(walking and punching speed that is) That's what made the code so good was because he was just about as fast as Blaze(walking) but with more power! The code I had just made him walk slightly faster than normal I don't think it did anything to his punching speed though. (His punching speed is decent enough anyway)

Riot Zone, I've got a code that I need you to try. The code will make Axel have 3 stars for speed instead of 2 (on the character select screen), but I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect his actual walking speed. But you said there's only a slight difference, so maybe you can tell for sure.

GSHI staff, don't add this code to the data base.

Ok Tony I'll try the code in a couple of hours from now once I get home. I'll let you know how much it affects his walking speed. The previous code I had sped him up just slighty just enough to notice a difference and it was perfect! (I didn't want him walking 80 mph it would look a bit goofy) Hopefully this code you came up with does the same as my previous code did! Thanks a lot for all you do! I've gotton a ton of codes from your code hut site!

Yeah Tony sorry to say that the code doesn't make him walk any faster. Now that I've been playing the game the last half hour or so, it would be perfect if you could come up with a code that makes Axel walk at the same speed as Skate does! (or maybe even a little faster than skate) I've noticed Skate is about a whole second and a half faster. I timed their speeds with a stopwatch in the bar stage when they walk the length of the bar table. Thanks again for all your help!

I was pretty sure that code only changed the number of stars. Well, I didn't have any luck with the "walk faster" code. But at least we've got some new high jump codes for the game.

I came up with some useful/interesting PAR codes for SoR 2... FFEF0D:xx = Character select (00 = Max, 02 = Axel, 04 = Blaze, 06 = Skate). You can change your character at anytime during the game. If you enter 01, you will have an ULTRA fast moving Max (and I do mean *ULTRA* fast). Haven't experimented much with other values though.

Something that was interesting... In the character select screen, the assembly (programming) shows that it allows numbers up to 08, but the highest number of the regular characters is only 06... That made me think that there might be another hidden/deleted character. I did some looking and I found a character in the ROM named Sammy. Does anyone know who Sammy is? I tried using a value of 08 with that RAM address above, but it just glitches the game.

                              EDIT:
I found Sammy (his graphics are still in the game). Is Sammy a known character, or have I stumbled on a useful find? I'll have a GG code shortly. I'll also have a Game Genie code for an ultra fast Max, Axel or Blaze.

Ok Tony thanks for trying. I've heard about scraped characters before in SOR games. I know in SOR 3 there is a whole bike chase level that is supposed to be still in the ROM that they left out of the final game.
