I came up with some useful/interesting PAR codes for SoR 2... FFEF0D:xx = Character select (00 = Max, 02 = Axel, 04 = Blaze, 06 = Skate). You can change your character at anytime during the game. If you enter 01, you will have an ULTRA fast moving Max (and I do mean *ULTRA* fast). Haven't experimented much with other values though.

Something that was interesting... In the character select screen, the assembly (programming) shows that it allows numbers up to 08, but the highest number of the regular characters is only 06... That made me think that there might be another hidden/deleted character. I did some looking and I found a character in the ROM named Sammy. Does anyone know who Sammy is? I tried using a value of 08 with that RAM address above, but it just glitches the game.

    EDIT:
I found Sammy (his graphics are still in the game). Is Sammy a known character, or have I stumbled on a useful find? I'll have a GG code shortly. I'll also have a Game Genie code for an ultra fast Max, Axel or Blaze.
Sammy is another name for Skate. They call him Sammy in BK3.
The 5th character may be Adam, or Shiva. I've read that Shiva can be enabled by hacking that address, but it freezes the game.
I've played with that RAM addresses in the past. I called them "telescopic punch", because you can punch enemies at the distance.
    01,Max
    03,Axel
    05,Blaze
    07,Skate

Thanks for the info Whipon. That would explain why his name is in the ROM.

Well, I've found 7 new deleted characters so far. The graphics are there for all 7 of them in the character select screen (although most have colors that are a bit off). One of them looks like a character from Super Street Fighter 2, one of them has a machine gun, one of them looks like a big ol' gay baby huey, and the rest... well, look for yourself:

      Streets of Rage 2

      BV2A-AAF0
See the 7 bosses in the character select screen. Keep pressing RIGHT to see
the rest of the bosses (keep pressing left to get to the regular characters).
Note that the bosses are probably not playable.

      =======================

You'll have to press right a bunch of times to see all 7 characters. There might even be more than 7.

I'm wondering where the hell all these characters came from?? Maybe the arcade version?

I'm working on seeing if any of those characters are playable, but it doesn't look promising.

EDIT: Changed description for the code.

Well, I solved the mystery... they're not deleted characters, they're the bosses. That would be sweet if they were playable, but very unlikely.

I think the code is still worth keeping, so I'll fix the description tomorrow. Actually, with a slight modification to that code, 3 of the 4 regular characters will have ULTRA fast movement. I'll post everything tomorrow (it's past my bedtime.... zzzzZZZZZ).

Nice codes Tony as usual, how about trying to make a code where you always dash (Skate can dash by pressing Forward 2 times) and maybe you can find the speed code that way. Just throwing some ideas out there.

Thanks for the tip Helder, I'll give that a try after I post this...

            Here's a new code:

            Streets of Rage 2

            AF2A-AAF0
Max, Axel, and Blaze are ULTRA fast (don't pick Skate). Your characters will
zip across the screen in an instant. This code is mostly for fun (ie. you may
not be able to finish some levels). IMPORTANT NOTE: When you get to the
character select screen, only press RIGHT to select your character. If you
press left (when MAX is selected), the code will stop working. You can also
see the 7 bosses with this code (just keep pressing RIGHT at the character
select screen). Note that the bosses are probably not playable.

              Here you go.
I've included two versions of the codes. I like the Walks Much Faster One, but maybe you found it very fast.

              Streets of Rage 2 (U) [!]
              Max Walks Faster,
              YDAA-AEHL
              Max Walks Much Faster,
              YDAA-AGHL

              Axel Walks Faster,
              YDAA-AEHN
              Axel Walks Much Faster,
              YDAA-AGHN

              Blaze Walks Faster,
              YDAA-AEHR
              Blaze Walks Much Faster,
              YDAA-AGHR

              Skate Walks Faster,
              YDAA-AEHT
              Skate Walks Much Faster,
              YDAA-AGHT

              Enjoy ^^.
              Whipon.

EDIT: I changed the codes to give the same speed to all characters.

                  ^^

I don't know about the other, but this one directly edits the value added to your position each time you walk. With the first code you walk 200 % faster, and with the second code 300% faster. I Just beat the game with the above codes and its much more enjoyable this way. I mean, you walk faster than any enemy, so you continuously kick ass!.

                          Thanks Tony .
First I looked for the address where your horizontal position is stored. (FFEF21) I made a write watch point with it on MESS, and examining traces I got another address (FFEF40) where the value to be added to the first is stored. Then I made a write watch point at this last address, and I got the rom addresses for the walking speed of all characters.

The "Start With Weapons At Full Power" codes aren't what you're looking for?

Oh Ok Thats pretty much the same thing isn't it? I'll have to give it a try, just as long as once you die you come back with full firepower (which is what I was looking for.) I know there are some codes you start the game with full power but once you get shot down you come back with standard firpower.
