I have a business trip coming up, this is apart of the few hours I have free, give me a few days, and I'll remove your "name" from the quotes, but I wouldn't want to remove something another user might find beneficial. I'm also working on a pet project at the moment, no word on weather I will make it available yet. The good news, I received a few e-mails, at least one I considered reporting to the department of homeland security, but there was nothing really in there, and another e-mail congratulating me on the website, and a few other votes of self-esteem support.

I'm going to create my own website for the distribution of my version of the program under the general public license the source is currently distributed with, with accolades for the author, and the statement of modification the program is distributed with.

Not something I intended to do originally, I am very busy at the moment, but I can have a website up in a few days when I get the spare time. Thank You.

Those of you interested in continuing this conversation, I will try to drop a comment box there, please don't continue to flame this thread, I will provide the link to the website when it is created, not before. This has already been done by someone with the "Unofficial FMCB 1.8 Installer", so I will follow this example in my release, but the program will still be debranded, however it will include a link to the original source distribution's site of interest, along with a statement about the damage to modified consoles that is unresolved, in the official builds of the program. (My Computer is backed up on a harddrive, and a separate set of burned media, I'm going to discourage some of you from this practice as the files will not be hosted on this computer that is being distributed, this has been done in the past)

Without your Help I would not of been convinced this would be beneficial. It is currently a work in progress, but the template is very simple, so the website is very easy to migrate from host to host, there are thousands of free website providers, and hundreds that do not entertain frivolous illegal claims. Once again the page is in progress, so check back soon, I will address your complaints that were provided here, but give me time to continue building the website. You are advised to contact me directly e-mail or mail your correspondence, the information will be correct soon, once again please be patient.

I decided to provide my Contact information, Legal Name, and Legal Address, instead of a comment box, and also an e-mail address. Please follow the link in the About section and mail your correspondence. (currently have a torrent hosted as a method of distribution for the program, I will try to keep at least one torrent up on a public tracker at all times, if it goes down, I should have it back up in a few weeks, once again use google) (I will check the program links every 7 days at least for tampering and additional links will be provided for the program on the official website, where-ever it is once again use google)

To real fix by correct video output instead of removing logo

That is not the license distributed with the open sources I have received and used, which fall under the gpu and are under slightly different terms. FMCB 1.7 and FMCB 1.8b are still being distributed, along with their sources, under the original terms, which do encourage the modification of the program.

I am seeing conflicting messages being presented, and the unlawful enforcement of terms of agreement that do not necessarily reflect the terms that are currently being distributed with the program. If that license is being presented to discourage any compilation of the program or use of the "open source", even as it is provided as such. Then there is no way, I will be illegally held to a falsified standard, in the illegal policing of uncopyrighted software that is designed to usurp the original function of copyrighted software.

I will not go out of my way to continue the distribution of my version of the program, and I will not go out of my way to stop the distribution of the program, but I will periodically revisit the interests of the community in accordance with the current, and original terms of agreement, not one explicitly provided to police me on falsified terms of usage.

I cannot promise to include that terms of agreement, but I can promise to attempt or at least intend to present the "general public license" and open source statement in the version of the program I release in the future, as this is on good terms with the wishes of the current distribution of the software.

Other then this, I can very easily provide any contact information some of you will need via pm for any legal action, but I will only report it to Sony, so maybe they can use it against you, or set a status quo, due to the nature of the coincidences, or depending on what legal action is taken, I will seek out a prosecutor for the illegal prosecution and detriment of character.

Anyway thanks for all the good comments, I am working on a theme set for fmcb1.8b which isn't quite panning out but if it does just use google and search for "fmcb" you will find it

(if there is an official fix to help users with modchips that run the risk of damage from running the software, then that would be the responsible thing to do, instead of encouraging console bricks since this could become a known error with the software, and maybe a legal issue) (the author has been given credit, my suggestion think twice about releasing the source under the gpu, stop encouraging the modification of the program, I've been working on and releasing this program for a few years now, and will probably continue, this just typically isn't flushed out in the open, but in the next release, I'll take your sincerity into consideration)

The logo of FMCB that resides in the launcher 2 is a special "C" version of the original jpeg image. The way it is written, leads me to believe it could and is reported to cause problems with certain modchips at startup when fmcb is installed with this brand of the logo http://www.theisozone.com/forum/view...p?f=76&t=26874, now I've replied to such an incident, and waiting for a positive reply from the original poster, if the topic hasn't been abandoned altogether.

I've been encouraged to remove the logo by their team at "psx-scene" in the past, and that's that I've done to at least help a common problem for a concerned user about his retail ps2. Whatever negativity there is, and its mostly not there anymore, affects could effect, or may be apart of an existing problem, and therefore could concern the legality in a future development with the distribution of sony's hardware or software or its intended policies under some statue or another.

The second rule of the license states that you must give credit to the
authors of Free McBoot. A great deal of work went into the creation of
Free McBoot, and it was given to you completely free of charge. Claiming
that you wrote the Free McBoot yourself is a slap in the face to everyone
who worked to bring you a stable and universal product while asking for
nothing but credit for their work in return. Specifically, the following
is required : Do not remove or change any of the Free McBoot splash
screens or credit line even in derivative work. By breaking the rule 2 you
violate this license and hence you'll be sued.

This same "bug" also resides in Official bulid of OPL.
the picture cause incorrect video output on chipped ps2 = BSOD.

http://forums.sksapps.com/showthread.php?t=11781, the source that was used in the "DEBRANDED FMCB 1.8" is actually 1.8b, not 1.8c, not that much of a deal but the source checks out.

... OPL fortunately also was easy to debrand...(alternative, try launching the app through another program like ulaunch or PSBBN/hdd-osd, not that I've tried).

send to sony would be pointless, sony already seen FMCB 1.7 and blocked with bios 2.30 since 2008 (5 years ago)
reason of negativity cause by you removed the author name jimmikaelkael with FMCB logo.

I originally learned a few things about compiling fmcb 1.5 at the time from "psx-scene.com", then I learned about replacing the graphics in fmcb 1.7 from the forums at "psx-scene.com". With a good amount of support from the moderators there, where the source of fmcb was originally hosted, and I guess still is but not for the latest version of the program. Not only me, but lots of others were encouraged to customize the program, however, those kinds of conversations eventually were written out of their forums. However the language in the license for those releases does not preclude such behavior.

I later found out that fmcb originated from a site like "ps2dev.org", if I'm not mistaken, and it later branched out into what is is now, with those ties closed, except for a few accolades in the source. Point being made? This isn't the first time, that program has repented itself of being open source, or decided to treat itself as something other then being what it was and is stated to be by their disclaimers.

I still visit "psx-scene" now and then, I have an account there at the moment, and I am fond of the contribution they are providing to the community, but sometimes things can get carried away, and certain freedoms they intend to grant to the end user, is not intended to be policed in any capacity, although this is what they may desire.

Anyway Thanks for the Comment, no I don't view any portion of this discussion as Negative, but I can understand how someone would mistake some portion of the questionable behavior as negative or attempting to enforce the buying or selling of the product under a different terms of agreement.
