I've tried to get the de/encrypter to work, but it keeps throwing errors such as a nonsensical "cannot find LIBEAY32.dll" error--when that particular file is in the same folder as the de/encrypter! How on Earth do you even use this thing?

Oh, and don't even get me started on how the ONLY link still in existence leading to what is supposed to be a download site for 1.5a is...wait for it...

    BROKEN!

That's right--the ONLY place where you can download 3DS Save DeEncrypter...NO LONGER HAS THE LINK!

I really hope somebody here has this particular piece of software, or we can basically kiss any hopes of hacking our own 3DS saves good-bye.

You're going to have to be careful, Helder--AVG is VERY picky about attachments. 9 times out of 10 AVG will think the attachment is a Trojan, and will NOT allow me to access it, even if I make AVG leave it alone.

Is there a way you can post this in the Downloads section, so it won't trigger AVG's false alarm?

Really? I never have that problem with AVG...except when the file is infected with a trojan.

For some odd reason this file once extracted and run my AV removes it so I had to add an exception. This doesn't work with the Codejunkies saves as this only accepts .sav files and not .bin files, we need to somehow convert from one to the other so we can use these tools to make our own edits.

Simply change the extension from .bin to .sav. It works (at least it appears to do so; didn't actually try the re-encrypted save on my game). Also, Datel STILL brazenly refuses to post the American equivalent to the European badge codes. What gives?

I just had a really WEIRD idea: why not try to "hack" a Mii, and find a way to piggyback codes onto it, via QR code? Or, why not even hack the QR codes themselves, so that they not only download a Mii, but codes for Smash Bros. along with the Mii?

Mii and other custom content is on the SD card and from what I've read hasn't been hacked yet.

If it is contained on the SD card, then maybe it can be edited once one learns how to read those files. I might look into it. Meanwhile, I'm looking to purchase New Super Mario Bros. 2 and/or Super Mario 3D Land this weekend (probably on Saturday--one of my days off).

The best thing about those two games is that there is a permanent white-suit code for each of them, so it bypasses the "die five times, pick up white-suit powerup" shiny-star deactivator effect. There might be some levels where you could STILL die (such as ones with a fast-moving auto-scroll cough*CANNONS*cough). Finding all the Star Medals in 3D Land will probably still be a bit of an issue (many were hard to find, Tanooki or not).

For 3D Land, however, I might try out the Boomerang Suit code as well. Having the power of a Boomerang Bro, PLUS "invincibility with knockback" = WIN.

If it was that simple I wouldn't be asking about it, I tried this before I posted about conversions between file types. The files renamed don't encrypt correctly and the key file is blank so something tells me it's obviously more complex than file extensions. Maybe Abystus or Parasyte might be interested in some reverse engineering of the files and we can take it from there.

It would be really cool to get some extremely high-level hackers to take on the Mighty 3DS Powersaves Device. I also wonder if raing3 would be interested? He was the one who created the awesome TempAR cheat engine for the PSP. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to do something like that for the 3DS.

Well it all falls on time and interest in this and many of us have families and other responsibilities which leaves us with little free time. Let's leave it here for a little while to see if they might be interested.

I noticed that the Datel powersaves device adds its own 160 byte header. Subsequent attempts to decrypt it don't seem to work.
Please put all complaints in writing and submit them here.

Above link not working? Try here.

It appears that Datel is really hard at work to keep us from getting the codes they are adamantly refusing us. It's as if they're saying, "there's nothing you can do to make us make the codes you don't have, and we're also going to do whatever it takes to prevent you from making them yourselves! Bwa-ha-ha!"

Seriously, I can sum it up in TWO words: Datel. SUCKS.

P.S. Please post that above message in as many places all over the internet as possible. I want the message to get out. Heck, I want it to go VIRAL!

Time to sniff the packets sent and received from their servers to get some info on how it works.
