  • AdamL's Game Boy codes

Not sure that I'll make many of these, but might as well start a thread in case I do.

Here is a Game Shark code for:

Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back

    013095DA - Infinite Force Power
US NES games left to beat: 3
Last 2: Nobunaga's Ambition II and Gemfire

Funny thing about making this code, I tried like hell with VisualBoyAdvance to make this code and had ZERO success. After giving up I took one final stab involving taking the code on the site for infinite energy (013094DA) and just going up one address, since the Force power bar is right next to the energy power bar and totally lucked into this code. I never had any problem making simple codes for NES games but the GB cheat maker confuses me. That's why I pay tribute to nolberto so much

Make sure you use VBA's RAM Search, it's just the same as the one found on FCEUX.

I mean, I'm assuming you are using FCEUX and VBArr.

Do you have a winning code for Riddick Bowe Boxing? I found the stamina cheats for P1 and the CPU but VisualBoy Advance ignores the code.

I think you are using a weird version of VBA or something that keeps ignoring your codes.

I've had the same problem with VBA. I found a timer cheat for Disney's Pinocchio that worked fine but any other cheat I isolated and would add to my list simply did not work. Doommaster, perhaps we are finding a very similar cheat to what we think we are finding or we need a 2nd code to go with it. I have no idea.

I can look into Riddick Bowe later but your best bet is asking nolberto in his thread. Just don't piss him off like Rey did

Download this version of VBA and you shouldn't have any major problems:

The version you suggested is 7.23.6.480. That is NOT the most up-to-date version. There is a more recent version. I recommend you downloading the most recent release which is version 8.24.0.480. Technically, both versions were released on the same date, which was April 14, 2013. But the one I'm suggesting has a higher version number.

You can download my suggested version here: http://code.google.com/p/vba-rerecor...80.7z&can=2&q=

I believe I have the most recent version of VisualBoy Advance and I still have the same problems. This isn't for one game either, it's for a bunch. I even tried to modify the address in the RAM itself and it kept resetting.
Also, I'll ask nolberto. I just hope he doesn't take my question as offensive.

Higher version number doesn't mean it's better. The version I linked is the one that I use and I don't have any problems with codes not being recognized.

                          Neither does my suggested version.

I tried to find out the differences between the versions but had no luck.

Yeah but you don't make codes, you only use codes that already work fine. VBA itself has a crappy cheat engine, lots of working codes don't work, but at least in the version I use (don't know about the new version), I don't have any problems making codes and having them recognized.

Rey, I tried using one of VisitntX's Alfred Chicken (GB) codes to fly in VBA but it would not accept the code:
                              010192FF

Does this code work in your version? Is there a way to convert this into a game genie code that would work?
