  • All variants of FCE have problems with certain Game Genie codes. In a few codes I made I warn people not to use FCEUX because of undesirable effects. FCEUX 2.1.5 to me seems more unstable than 2.1.4a I kept getting crashes while using the debugger.

Start a New Game to View the Ending
      YASGITLA

      @OldSchoolGamer

I didn't see this "Mini-Game" during the small amount of time I played it (took me about 10 seconds to find the menu modifier address and maybe a minute of seeing what values did what). If you could provide a Saved State of the beginning of what your referring to it would be helpful. The only thing outside of normal play that I saw was a third person view against the goalie (which had no time limit from what I could tell) and the general fight between 2 players.

      Edit:

Appears ReyVGM has already looked into it. I figured it wasn't that big of a "Mini-Game" if it didn't appear in the menu modifier address.

      • That's why I prefer Nestopia to play games, test cheat codes, and utilize cheat codes. I've never experienced any problems using Nestopia. All valid cheat codes I've ever used/tested in Nestopia have always worked. There's no doubt that FCEUX and it's variants are the best emulator to find/create cheat codes. But to actually test out those codes, utilize those codes, and play games... I prefer Nestopia all the way.

          Code:
One Hit Kills (Alternative. Couldn't get the Galoob code to work. Do not use on the "The top of the OCP Tower" stage or the game will not end if you kill the ninjas.)
          AOKYAAEP

Hit Anywhere (Best used with one hit kills.)
          AEENAEUT

          Infinite Efficiency

          • Variants of FCEU have different debugging tools, some more advanced than others. For instance, the version I use has conditional breakpoints which makes the more advanced codes easier to find.

I have noticed that if you add a genie code in fceu with the genie decoder, it will work fine... until you disable it and re-enable it. Then it discards the check byte, and writes the value byte on every page, most of the time crashing the game. So in the code handling of the code somewhere, the check byte wasn't taken into consideration. It's buggy stuff like that that irks me, however it's one of the best debuggers I've ever used.

                • Abystus, I please you for fixing some exciting GG codes. I was reported them a few months ago but nobody fixed them yet. I post the problem codes again here.

                  Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES)

SXOGGZVK Infinite Lives (by Doc Lathrop Brown)
After you die once, you get a black screen and the game don't continue anymore.

                  (Hudson's) Adventure Island 2 (NES)

                  VTELPZVK Infinite Jump (by megaman_exe)
This code is working, but when you jump, it means appearing any awful black parts as graphic errors in the background.

AANLTPZE Infinite Jump, But You Bounce In The Air Undefinetely (by megaman_exe)
Sometimes you stay on one height and don't falling down. Also, if you enter in the room with the Hudson's bee for free continue in World 1 with this GameGenie code enabled, the game stop works and you get a black screen only.

PAKNIIAA Infinite Bee (invisible bee but invincible) (by megaman_exe)
If you touch any boss in any level with this code on, you'll not be able to defeat the boss because touching him with this GameGenie code enabled makes boss invincible against your attacks.

                  (Hudson's) Adventure Island 3 (NES)

                  AEVXKGPA Invincibility (by VisitntX)
This code don't protect you against bonfires and skulls in the caves. Collisions with these enemies still can kill you.

EYSXZAEI Fly (keep jump button pressed) (by megaman_exe)
If you swim high while you're almost reached to exit of Level 4-6, this code cause you will automatically finish the stage with a incorrect entering into the exit before you approach enough it. If this happens, after your exit in this way the rest of the health bar don't score as bonus and the game don't continue (including going to World 4 boss).

                  Mega Man 2 (NES)

NNNELXGO 255 Maximum Life [Shows Only 28] (by zazer)
This code is corrupted - it don't work with absolutely none versions of the game no matter whether you try to use it on Megaman 2 (E), Megaman 2 (U) or Rockman 2 - Dr. Wily no Nazo (J).

GGUKOVLK Invincible (After Getting Hit Once) (by Gedowski)
This code works, but when getting hit, the game for a few seconds becomes too slowdown.

                  Mega Man 6 (NES)

OXEEOZSX Always Invincible Against Spikes (by Ugetab)
The code works only against spikes that are lined horizontally on the floor or the ceiling. The spikes that are lined vertically on the walls still kills Mega Man.

I please you test and repair these GG codes. Thanks you!

I will see what I can do. I will only likely fix the ones that don't contain any "odd" events thrown in like "But You Bounce In The Air Undefinetely". I will take a look at your list on the side while I try to tackle Mame.

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (U) GG FCEUX

                    Code:
                    Infinite Lives
                    GXOGGZVG
Mega Man 2 (U) GG FCEUX

                    Code:
                    Invincibility
                    EIUGVTEY

255 Maximum Life (Only 28 shown onscreen. Still start the stage with the default amount of health.)
                    NNNEAXGO
                    NYEAIUGO

Mega Man 6 (U) GG FCEUX

                    Code:
                    Invincibility
                    ESXAKTEY

                    @Unicode
I could not find any vertical spikes in any of the main stages (that were on the main course). This code uses the built in invincibility routine so it should be invincible to those spikes as well.
                    Hudson's Adventure Island 2 (U) GG FCEUX

                    Code:
                    Infinite Jump
                    GZELPZVG
                    Hudson's Adventure Island 3 (U) GG FCEUX

                    Code:
                    Invincibility
                    GXSYYLSZ
                    SAVNUISZ

Dinosaur/Skateboard Invincibility (Certain things like dinosaurs that aren't suppose to go in lava, dinosaurs that cannot swim, etc will remove them. I have left it this way intentionally.)

Your codes for Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 6 works good.

But about "Invincibility" code for Hudson's Adventure Island 3: I found this when the player is alone (without any dinosaur equipped), you can walk through skulls, bonfires and all other enemies without dying. But if you ride any dinosaur, you'll lose it when you touch any enemy.

Below I also post a screenshot about what graphic errors in background scenery I get when I use megaman_exe's "Infinite Jump" GG code VTELPZVK for Hudson's Adventure Island 2.

The dinosaur is programmed to leave you if you hit one of these obstacles (thus saving your life in a real game by taking the hit). I will see about making a completely separate code for you to keep your dinosaur all the time, as it's not really part of my invincibility code (My invincibility code does it's job, and is designed to not allow you die unless you fall off the screen. No one said anything about the dinosaur...)

                        Edit:
I have added the code "Dinosaur/Skateboard Invincibility" to the original posting that should correct the issue you described.

Unlike the original "Infinite Jump" GameGenie code for Hudson's Adventure Island 2 made by @megaman_exe, your version don't cause any graphic errors.

About your new "Dinosaur/Skateboard Invincibility" code for Hudson's Adventure Island 3, it also work fine, as it also make you have permanently Invincibility bee. When you run into enemies with any dinosaur, you don't simply can pass through them - you'll kill them instead. That make this code most sweet.

Glad you like the updated codes. I think this may conclude me working on this list as the other codes just don't appeal to me enough to look into.
