  • GAMEHACKING THE OLD SITE

I have surprised by disappearing of the old version of this site , it was much better and easier to use and fast, now its a little bit complicated, so, is there a way to use the old version ?

The old version has been abandoned. Everything that was on the old version is on the new one. Please use the new site, the old site is not being supported any more.

Can we move on? The old site, though built by our good friend LMZ, was severely outdated.

What's so complicated about the new site? I have always been open to hearing the thoughts of others regarding it.

You pick a system, you pick a game, the cheats are listed. What's the complicated part? (That wasn't rhetorical, throw me a bone.)

in the new one, i should customize my favourites settings (view style - items per page ...) everytime i visit the site, or i must be logged in.
in the old one, everything is fine by default.

This site is great about staying logged in, thanks to vbulletin. Otherwise I can improve cookie handling sometime.

Which settings do you prefer? I will consider changing the defaults if others agree.

well, for "Game Selection Page" view style: i choose table, for "Items per page": i prefer to see all the games that began by choosen letter (A or B or C ...), in my case are 999.
for "Code Page" view style: i prefer simple.
and for "Game Filters": i mark everything except "Games with 0 Codes".

also there are one missed option in each system, this option is "codes to show", for example in "N64" we want to filter codes to show (Action Replay or Xplorer64), in "Sega Genesis" (Game Genie or Pro Action Replay), in "Playstation 2" (ARMAX or Codebreaker ...), in "Nintendo NES" (Game Genie or Pro Action Replay), ... etc.

Take a look at my settings in the picture.

                          thank you.

heres just a few observations i can say when comparing the two sites. visually the new site looks hands down 100% better, however adding codes to the database to the old site was alot easier and you hardly lost codes.
the ability to add multiple codes for the same game is sorely missed. and the magling of code types is frustrating when you are looking for a particular code type. i don't play on emulators so cheat files have no real use to me. even my sega master system games i play on hardware and i deal with the hardware limitations. i use emulators to make codes thats all. but thats just my opinion on the two sites
