Ever heard of Geiger's Snex9x Debugger build? Didn't have any issues running the game at all, however it takes way too much to get to a point worth hacking in a game you have to get so involved in to begin with.

I am bumping my original suggestion of MK2/Killer Instinct Snes (Straight to the point as far as setup for hacks and lots to be hacked if you think outside the box). Other than that anything Snes/Nes based I'll give a shot as long as it doesn't take a lot of involvement to get started hacking it.

Actually I did, but couldn't get the game past the title screen. BSNES was too slow for me, but I know my processor could use an upgrade.

You may want to try v1.43 as the newer builds have unforgiving issues.

          Nice suggestions, Tony.

Abystus: I agree; we should pick games that don't require a lot of actual play time to get to a good point to hack.

Personally, I can't think of much to hack for fighting games, and with such a quiet hacking week behind us, perhaps we should pick a game everyone can hack before venturing into the murky waters of MK2 or KI (and also Street Fighter 2).

OK, so let's have a de facto 'vote'. I cast mine for Blackthorne. It was a really cool, little-known Blizzard game, and the fact that it might be difficult to hack makes it all the more enticing.

Make a poll for the suggestions. Then after a game is picked make a poll for the next while we hack the current so we have a defined game by the time the week is up. If new games are suggested during the current poll then they are submitted to the next poll. Should keep things in order this way.

I guess a poll would work. I'm too lazy to do it myself, so if someone else wants to, feel free.

I was actually working on a code and its semi finished to open al map locations but it doesn't really matter now, and the version 1.51 of Geiger's is what I used it is a great tool and also searches SRam locations which Super Mario RPG uses quite a bit. So don't knock out the SNES just yet it has many great games to hack.

I've finally worked up the unlaziness to make a poll for this thread. We can just change the poll every week, if necessary. I've cast my vote for Blackthorne (SNES)

Blackthorne seems to be winning the only draw back to the game in terms of GG hacking is that almost all good PAR codes use the same asm routines for just about everything, so modifying one address will affect the animation etc. PAR is still effective and easy but GG will be challenging.

Yes, I already tried an infinite health genie code, and it kept the character from moving left or right, and let him fall through the floor. It will be difficult.

OK; it's settled. I'll make the thread.

I've reset the poll, so we can start voting on the next hacking target.

It would appear we have a tie, between Mortal Kombat II (SNES), and Clash at Demonhead (NES), with helder being the odd man out. Thus, I move that helder decide between the tied games.

                            Well, helder?

doesn't look like a tie to me...
