Can someone explain me how to use Artmoney for using boss characters

  • Can someone explain me how to use Artmoney for using boss characters

    as title topic said,i'm literally going crazy to understand how this system works.i looked for google for tutorial but i can only find tutorials on how to find values for money\energy etc which i don't really need. i'll take as an example this thread here

    it doesn't say where to put the values(i just start the emu,the app recognize it fine)i put the values on search and it doesn't find anything.i look for 2C340A05 at first,and artmoney can't find it,it only find values lower than that,like 2C34,nothing similar.if i decide to input 2C340A0522 (which is the code for choosing the first player on your team with the character neodio,a boss)artmoney says that the value is incorrect.any help?

    The easiest way to do this is simply do a search for anything and once you have a list of addresses add one to your list of codes and change the code to the one in that thread and done.

      ok i did that,although its a "brute" way to do it,but i works.now, i did a similar way for rumble fish 1,and i managed to get the boss,also on power stone 1,unfortunately the famed "cursor training" mode doesn't work for rumble fiss 2.does anyone how to do that for games where the extra characters just don't want to show up?similar examples:jingi storm,where i can seleect any character with the values,but anything beyond those,which are supposed to be bosses,just gets me the first(numbered 0)character.also i wanted to use it on model 2 emulator yo use the bosses in sonic the championship,but is basically impossible to have a fixed value.

      i found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndX6vLMO5aQ of a guy who managed to play as metal sonic,and he said that he gave the values to "make it super easy" but its not..all he wrote was to look for 03 for metal sonic..well if you put 03 in the "value" field over "exact value" in artmoney,a plethora of other values comes out.how does it work?

      also:in the case you mentioned it was easy because i had the value..how can i get it from games such as sonic the championship?

        More than likely the person was referring to the character modifier code once it's found you simply force the value to be 03 for Metal Sonic. You can't take what everyone says literally and expect it to work and when it doesn't you feel cheated. You have to use unknown searches till you find the address then use the value the person said. There are many and I mean many tutorials on doing searches for these or any other type of code, read up on them and this will become easy to do.

          Can you please link some of the se tutorial here? All i can find online are tutorial for mondo, health etc

                What codes is that? This is what I mean when I say taking things literal. The guide for item modifier can be adopted for making character mods hell even level mods, all that's important is the methods used to find the codes not an exact step by baby step of using the program. All programs work similar so the methods are what's important but take it as you will and why not go to the Artmoney site and look at the guides or check their forums for tutorials since these don't seem to work for you.

                  its not about artmoney or cheatengine in particular,since they're both the same,its the METHOD.it can't be all made just by pure luck.yeah i need baby step by step,because ALL BY MYSELF i managed to discover some boss code for some games,only to find out that the same method won't work for other games(mame especially)so is really that hard to write down 5 lines to explain to me what's the most basic,used method so i can then modify it?i'm sure that each game has its own method,but the "base" must be the same for all of them.is that hard to just explain the basis to me?

                      well read what i wrote before..i just want to know which is the easiest (or not so easiest yet working)way fo find character values in fighting games..the same values you were looking for in some other threads on this forum here.following some hints(not guides..HINTS)i managed to find a way,the "cursor trainer" method to find values and discover way to play as bosses..it works 100% in some games and it works 0% in many others...so there must be a way to secure a method.here's my experiments so far:

                      this is a video i made using virtua fighter 2 as example.i use this method and 90% of the times it works.i already knew that the final boss values was 10,because the normal characters are 9,so i skipped right to it.when i don't know that,i just try all the values from 1 until i get there.i used artmoney for this video but the results and procedure are the same on cheat engine as well




                      this other video instead show what i'm talking about,that i'm struggling to understand how the character order is.in cheat engine i use the same procedure,but as you can see after the second value,everything disappears,as i can't understand who's supposed to be character 1,2 etc,since there are characters in multiple directions.i try to added all of the values found at the second attempt,but none of them is the one for modifying the characters



                      what should i i do,if anything,when i find the values,but when i choose the value for the boss,the game chooses a random other character instead? :\ here's an example:the game is virtual on,which has a simple select screen,and two bosses.one is supposedly unplayable,because is very big and has its own stage(unlockable in the ps2 version of the game,and again playable on its own stage)while the other boss,even if being bigger than a regular unit,(and playable on ps2 and saturn as well)should be "useable",but no luck...the character i'm trying to play as is called jarguandi and comes before the huge boss.here's a video.the sub boss should be n.8 and last should be 9.i tried to use the 8 value and as you can see the curosr goes off screen like usually happens when selecting bosses in fighting games using this method,but all i got is the first selectable character on the roster(which is valued 0 ftr)

                      i did another experiment,this time with dead or alive 2,folllowed the procedure as usual and again i get to select the main characters but not the bosses..the game just crashes

                      the address is different than mine ,i tried searching for that result but no success(although he clearly states that it may change from pc to pc).now the values he has for the characters are different than mine.they both work,but how did he discovered those ?how he knew that he had to start the cursor training on zack and not on kasumi who's the first character you start on with the flashing slot?i asked all this and more before but he never replies to his videos.i did a cursrr training followed the order of the character he stated and now i get more values..though when i choose the last boss(which is playable)in my case the game crashes

                            Sorry, but I can't read what you wrote because you don't use proper capitalization or spaces after punctuation marks, so it's difficult to decipher all the rambling.

                            What I can tell you is that not all games are programmed the same, so not all search methods will work the same. Also, by using external cheat programs, you run the risk of having to re-search for the address everytime you close and reopen the program. I don't know why it happens, but the addresses get shuffled after doing that.

                            Also, all you're doing is searching for values. Which is fine when you already know the value (like in that Virtua Fighter 2 example). For other games, just search for the address. Pick a character, start your search; pick a different character, and do a "not equal" (or whatever it's called) search; pick another character and do another "not equal" search. Keep repeating until you find the address.

                            Sometimes the values for the characters are not so easily numbered as 1, 2 & 3. Sometimes the first character has a value of 0, but the second character has a value of 10, and then 20, 30, etc.
                            Also, sometimes each character might have its own address. So instead of one address controlling which character is "on" by changing the values, you instead have 10 addresses - one for each character - that is usually "0" for not selected or "1" for selected.

                            Also, some games might have protection against cheating and use fake addresses to fool cheaters or hackers. Specially if it's an Arcade game. It gets worse the more modern they are too.

                              hmm i see.i'll try the not equal method you posted.that protection thingy is a dealbreaker..though someone managed for example to find those addresses for matrimelee matsuri,converting them to a trainer(including boss select)and i wonder how he did it
