You see, the thing you're acting all desperate. You don't make the slightest effort in typing in a clean way so we don't have to read your posts 2 or 3 times to understand them. Also, you get sort of passive-aggressive indirectly demanding someone to teach you step by step how to hack exactly the code that you want.

Like it was said before, not all hacking methods work the same for each game. Making a character select code is kind of an advanced code on more modern games. If you really want to learn how to hack, you need to start with easy codes such as Infinite Lives, Time, Energy, etc. Once you grasp the basics, then making difficult codes will be easier.

Unfortunately you can't jump directly from knowing nothing, to making advanced codes.

What I said was that "you don't use proper capitalization or spaces after punctuation marks", which has nothing to do if English is your mother tongue or not. English is not my native tongue either, and I use proper spacing, so that's no excuse.

From what I could understand from your post is that you are still passive-aggressively demanding people to help you, and getting defensive when they don't tell you what you want.
Helder gave you a tutorial on the first page, and I told you a bunch of tricks to find what you want. But you seem to want someone to teach you step by step in a few days what took most people months to learn.

I'm not trying to bully you, but it's really hard to want to help someone when the explanation that person types, gives me a headache. So instead of making it harder, why don't you take the time to type properly and that way more people will be willing to help you?

Alright, this bickering has been going on long enough. I've actually been monitoring this thread and I can see that nothing good will come of it unless an admin intervenes.

To Solstar: Helder was only trying to help you. Most of the codes that you wish to create can be adopted from the methods used in that generic code hacking guide. You just have to apply yourself and see what works for you. If what you're doing isn't working, try to approach the code(s) a different way. If that fails, politely ask for additional assistance.

Do not come here demanding that we spoon-feed you and then give us an attitude when we don't comply. I'm not sure what forum you post on that accepts this vulgar behavior, but this won't be one of them. You posted in the "School of Hacking" section. This tells me that you plan on actually learning something. How do you plan on learning if you're repudiating knowledge and aren't trying to persevere? That guide that you boorishly placed in quotes has been proven to be beneficial for most.

Rey gave you some insight on how to approach the code so don't say that he didn't help. His other posts were just aggressive. However, I partially agree with him in the fact that you lack forum etiquette. Even if English isn't your native language, the fundamentals for punctuation mark placement are usually the same. If that isn't the case with your native language, please let me know because this language barrier for foreign users has been a problem in the past. I know that a lot of our posts may be ambiguous, but don't take what Helder said the "wrong" way (in a means to offend you).

To Rey: I don't like how you approached this. I understand where you're coming from (read my statement above), but it was completely unnecessary to nitpick all of his posts. You chose to help him so you should have done so professionally. Addressing the issue with his posts the first time was alright, but if they were so unbearable to read, you should have departed this thread earlier. By doing so, it would have avoided this topic from getting derailed from the argument you two were having.

Amen brother! The reason I never responded was that the info in that guide is sufficient in hacking these codes and many others so I left it up to you to try it yourself. Newer games are generally hacked the same way except once you find the code it usually has some kind of pointer which takes some skill and patience and experience to do so that the address doesn't move around. Again that guide is easy to follow and applies to tons of games and not all games are programmed alike even fighting games ,take MK2 for example where the bosses freeze the game when you play as them unless you do some clever Assembly Hacking which is advanced hacking to say the least. So once you can find your address using those methods and if you have problems with moving addresses aka pointers then request help again and someone will respond on how to go about doing it.

If this has already been said, take it as reiteration.

I've never hacked a code to play a game as someone not originally intended, but if I were going to, I'd try one of the following:

1. I'd go to the character select screen, and find the address where the character value is stored. I'd find the highest number of the selectable characters, and then go one higher and start the game. Keep trying different values for as long as I can stand it. That may work or it may not.
2. I'd choose a character and start the game, then again, find the address where the character value is stored and start changing it. Depending on the game, it may change right away or it may not. If it doesn't change the character, I'd see what wrote to that address when the game started, and try to alter the game to write a different number.

Learning these advanced hacking techniques is all about doing, trying, and trying again. Not just start hacking the game to pieces, but try to understand what the game code is doing, so you can make it do what YOU want it to do.
