  • [Gen]Pier Solar and the Great Architects (World) (En,Fr,De) (Rev A) (Unl)

Here is a game I know has no hacks and is a nice game released way after the Genesis died and was undumpable till a while ago. I just played it a bit to hack codes, also take note that there are 3 revisions of the game and these are for Rev A. I also have a WTW code as I tend to make them for any game I can. More codes to come soon.

Lets continue this conversation in my thread of Pier Solar as to not clutter Tony's thread. I will move these posts there.

Are you referring to the codes I posted above? I know the ASM codes should be good to go with no problems but I could be wrong. The Ram codes I have seen where moved around often but not the ones I used but take into account I only made and tested these outside battle so I don't know if they affect other values in battle.

i made some infinite HP\MP codes for the first three characters about a week ago
        but they are unstable
usually they work, but sometimes, a person will start losing HP when hit, or Mp when casting magic etc
        not sure why
keep in mind, codes were made in an emulator,
its been said on the watermelon forums that modifying memory will corrupt game saves
i dont have a game genie or PAR anymore
could be wrong, but i think there are at least five different roms of the game, (revision 1 in three regions revision 2 in two regions) three have been dumped

about corrupt game saves is due with RAM, SRAM and save file data(s) do not match
example Final Fantasy 7 is one of games has hash sum checking.
lee4 Does Not Accept Codes Requests !
When lee4 asks a question it does not mean lee4 will look at your game

Knowing that we could just shut off codes before saving or trying to find the checksum and nop it. Have you ever gotten any corrupt saves with the emulator?

I've started working on getting this to run on a mega everdrive. Since I'm working with real hardware, the first step is to get past the patch protection.
              Code:
              Pier Solar [25B7063E]
              Disable Checksum Protection
              JAGT-AA86

Well that takes care of protections and I just updated my first post with In Battle Codes so as far as I'm concerned they cover just about everything for this game except maybe having All Spells unlocked, but feel free to give me some ideas to what to hack.

Well, it disables the boot time checksum protection for the rom, so the rom can be patched or game genie codes can be used. I don't know if it uses checksums for saves or not.

After further testing, I found there are multiple checksum routines for various parts of the rom. I added a couple to the list.
                      Code:
                      Pier Solar [25B7063E] [4261EA9B]
                      Disable Checksum Protection

I notice it doesn't save with GG codes, so does your code fix this?

I don't know, I haven't even played the game yet. I've just been working on getting it to run past the disclaimer on the mega everdrive.

Honestly, I doubt it. These are more boot-time check routines to make sure the ASM isn't altered before starting the game, thus allowing genie codes and patches on real hardware. All of these checks happen before the initial menu screen.

When I get some time I will have to try to get 2 logs comparing saves with and without GG codes. Also how are you making the Checksum codes? Using MESS?

Edit: Just tried some saving with codes on and the game properly saves with your current Checksum Codes.

Did a normal trace, edited the rom, then traced to red screen. Compared them to make the codes.

I like how mess traces compress by merging loops.
