  • Help modifying or remaking code, please? Attn: Helder

At a friend's request, I played SNES Legend of Zelda:A Link To The Past, using helder's GG code B431-A4B8 for 1-hit kills. The code works fine with any sword or weapon, but it seems to be causing game glitches. For example, when approaching the desert palace on the extreme west of the Overworld map with this code on, the music shifts as if the Book of Mudora was used at the entrance, the three turtles move a little, & the game freezes.(But the music keeps playing.) There are other glitches/freezups at other places as well, both in the Overworrld and in dungeons. I told my friend to just keep the code inactive until he faced a boss until I could find out more.

The same glitches occur on ZSNES, SNES9X, and BSNES. I have tried quite a few modifications of this code myself, with every weapon, no other codes active, etc. etc. without success. But, compared to most of you, I'm a rank amateur hacker.

While searching for alternatives, I came across 0780-C7CF by Mike Truitt. it worx for most "easy" enemies, but not on bosses or tougher opponents. It does not cause crashes that I've seen.

Helder, since the code I first listed was made by you, & you're a better hacker than I, I am hoping you have time to give this some attention. Thanx in advance to you and/or anyone else who can help!

I think that Abystus made a better code somewhere on the forums and not sure if it was added to the site. But try this one and see if its any better :

    1 Hit Kill (Alternate)
    6D35-ADF8

Also had this code made for a while and never posted it

    Can Open Chests Infinitely
    A230-DD05

Note:You just re-enter the room and whatever chest was there has the item again, works on everything like heart and bombs and rupees.

First, Helder, your "open chests infinitely" code worx perfectly. A player can use it to stock up on rupees, keys, etc. or restore full health, if the chest contains hearts.

Second, Abystus' alternate 1-hit kilzz code worx fine, with no game freezes,

      except...

if used to kill any boss, the item you are supposed to receive for killing that boss (pendant, crystal, etc.) doesn't appear and you are stuck in the boss room with no way out. This applies to Ganon as well.

Mike Truitt's code I posted above doesn't work on any boss. Your original code worx perfectly on all bosses, except Blind the thief, with no game-crashing glitches.

I advised my friend to use Abystus' code everywhere except against a boss, and to use your code against a boss.

I tested your code on SNES9X, ZSNES, and BSNES, both with and without any other codes active, no sword modifier codes, and it worx perfectly, except against the bosses Blind the Thief and Mothman. However, those bosses are no prob for an experienced player. Your rehack, Helder, is the best one-kill code yet.

          THANX FOR YOUR WORK!

I was replaying the game a bit and tested it in the early stages but once I get to those bosses I might hack a second line to the code to kill those particular bosses.

              Good luck!
There are several newer generations out there who are learning about the great old games available on older consoles and their emus. Gives them a break from the intensity of XBox 360, PC, & and PS3 games.

And again, thanx 4 your work so far!

Ok here is the code for the thief cat boss, he had a few other defenses before my code took effect.

Cripple Thief Boss Defenses (Best Used with 1 Hit Kill Code)
                6DCF-A980

                Walk Through Walls (Alternate)

Your "Cripple Thief Boss Defenses" code works fine on all three emus. As for the Scorpion Boss, you can kill him with one bomb placed so he crawls over it, with your one-hit-kill code. As for Trinexx, one shot of the Fire rod kills his Ice head, but it takes several shots of the Ice Rod to kill his Fire head. After he transforms, one hit of the Hammer on his glowing midsection will kill him. None of these should be too tough for an experienced gamer.

As for Ganon, it's a lot more fun to kill him without using any codes. However, for those who just wanna kill him quickly, either use your one-hit-kill code plus the Gold Sword or use 7EF35948 Sword Modifier code.
