At a friend's request, I played SNES Legend of Zelda:A Link To The Past, using helder's GG code B431-A4B8 for 1-hit kills. The code works fine with any sword or weapon, but it seems to be causing game glitches. For example, when approaching the desert palace on the extreme west of the Overworld map with this code on, the music shifts as if the Book of Mudora was used at the entrance, the three turtles move a little, & the game freezes.(But the music keeps playing.) There are other glitches/freezups at other places as well, both in the Overworrld and in dungeons. I told my friend to just keep the code inactive until he faced a boss until I could find out more.
The same glitches occur on ZSNES, SNES9X, and BSNES. I have tried quite a few modifications of this code myself, with every weapon, no other codes active, etc. etc. without success. But, compared to most of you, I'm a rank amateur hacker.
While searching for alternatives, I came across 0780-C7CF by Mike Truitt. it worx for most "easy" enemies, but not on bosses or tougher opponents. It does not cause crashes that I've seen.
Helder, since the code I first listed was made by you, & you're a better hacker than I, I am hoping you have time to give this some attention. Thanx in advance to you and/or anyone else who can help!
