Is this code on GameHacking.org or no?.
you can really see the down side to codes like this it was hacked so long ago the only reference to it is a totally automated website Cheatzilla where it was put up by ventureman
can you not see the downside to just throwing up other peoples codes. its really sad to see a good hack fade away but it does happen. i don't want something like Cheatzilla happen here

Codes that have the same effect, I think, should stay separate. Grouping those could cause confusion, since some people may not know whether one or all codes are needed.Originally posted by OldSchoolGamer View Post...I'm curious what will happen with different codes that have the same effect?...Also, it would be nice if the most important/main codes be at the top of the page...
Right now the codes sort by address. Personally, I think that's the best, but that may change or be made an option. I don't really see "importance" as an option since that's a matter of opinion. Maybe I can put codes with certain names at the top or something.

I thought of that possible confusion. But there are ways to make it clear that only one of the codes is needed. There can be a divider or something of that nature. But I get what your saying. Whatever is cool.Codes that have the same effect, I think, should stay separate. Grouping those could cause confusion, since some people may not know whether one or all codes are needed.
What does that mean? The codes are sorted alphabetically? If it's not too much trouble, you might as well include the sorting option. But if it's alot more work on your part implementing that, then it's no big deal.Right now the codes sort by address. I think that's the best, but that may change or be made an option.
Oh I wasn't saying that "Importance" should be an option in which codes can be sorted. I was just saying that important/most utilized codes should be at the top of the page. Your right, it is a matter of opinion in regards to my use of the word "important". I should have left the word "important" out of my post. I should have just said "the most utilized codes". Because "Infinite Lives" and "Infinite Energy" are the most utilized codes. I don't have any statistics to prove that, but I'd bet on it.I don't really see "importance" as an option since that's a matter of opinion.Last edited by OldSchoolGamer; 09-29-2011, 10:23:24 PM.Now broadcasting from the underground command post. The codes are sorted by address, which means they are sorted by the address they modify. A code that modifies the address at 0x003E would come before one that modifies 0x805A. This helps separate the ram from the rom, and groups codes that modify the same address, such as "start on level" or "start with X Lives" codes.

Is there anyway that this website's database could be imported into an emulator so all the cheat codes are already inserted and available for each game? You know how you can download Pugsy's cheat.zip file for MAME and when you play a game, the cheats are automatically there without having to insert them manually. Well is there a way to do that for, lets say, a NES emulator? Is there a way of taking all of this website's NES codes and have them imported into a NES emulator like Nestopia or FCEUX?
Also, what is "Codebook.zip" that is available here: http://gamehacking.org/official_codes.html. It looks like Ugetab's Sega Genesis codes. Could those be imported into a Sega Genesis emulator such as Kega Fusion or Gens/Gens Plus!? Or is that file just a document with a bunch of ugetab's Sega Genesis cheat codes?
And what does "RoughGenie" mean when you highlight codebook.zip?: gshi.org/ugetab/RoughGenie/Codebook.zipLast edited by OldSchoolGamer; 09-30-2011, 02:04:37 AM.Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Let me get this clear I cannot contact that guy I don't know his name anymore that was back in 2004 when he made this code on gamefaqs.
That code works I used it all the time it gives you all power up parts and you can equip all of them (As X you can equip all but not the Z-Saber parts, then for Zero you can equip nealry all parts but not the X-Buster parts).
Come on thats a great code try it.

The ability for you to export the site's codes was really the point for the entire rewrite. You will be able to go to a game, select cheats, select an emu, and hit a button to save a cheat file to import into that emu.Originally posted by OldSchoolGamer View PostIs there anyway that this website's database could be imported into an emulator so all the cheat codes are already inserted and available for each game? Some emus support single file, or every game in one file, like mess, meka, and jnes. These will be supported as well. There may also be a way to download all cheats for one system in one zip, if we decide to do so.
