  • GameHacking.org Weekly Hacking Target (07-10-11) - Little Nemo [NES]

    This week's hacking target will be Little Nemo: The Dream Master, for NES.

    The rules are simple: hack whatever you like, as long as it hasn't been hacked, and post in this thread with any codes/progress/questions/requests (yes, requests are welcome). To verify what's already been hacked, take a look at these pages:

    I would please like to request an "Enemies Die Instantly" or "No Enemies" Game Genie code.

      While looking for a One Hit Kills code, I stumbled across this:

      Code:
      Hit Anywhere
      ANVSXIEP
      ALOSOTEL
      [B]NOTE: Works with candy and all attacks. When falling, the frog will jump automatically in midair if enemies are around.[/B]
      As for making a No Enemies cheat, I'm afraid it would also remove the friendly animals....

        Die instantly, how? Like they die immediately in your presence? I'm sure something like that exists, but (again) it might affect the friendly creatures. Here's something that might be good:

          Die instantly, how? Like they die immediately in your presence? I'm sure something like that exists, but (again) it might affect the friendly creatures.
          Yea that's what I meant. But if it's going to kill the friendly creatures as well, then it's not worth making because some levels require the use of friendly creatures in order to advance to the next level.

          Nice job on the "One hit kills enemies" and "Hit anywhere" game genie codes! I will be replaying this game shortly using them.

            A cheat to cycle through the various suits with the select button would be great, but it's not something I can do just yet.

              NOTE: Works with candy and all attacks. When falling, the frog will jump automatically in midair if enemies are around.
              The reason why the frog will jump automatically in midair if enemies are around is because when you jump with the frog it is like you are attacking an enemy. Without cheats, how you kill an enemy is by jumping on it with the frog. And when you jump on top of an enemy, you bounce up alittle bit. So that is why the frog jumps in midair when you jump when using the "Hit anywhere" game genie code, incase you were wondering.

                All Creatures Die In Your Presence

                Friendly/good creatures die also with this code. So for some levels, in order for a gamer to advance to the next level, they would have to use a 'jump higher' code along with this code, such as one of the following codes that are already in the database:

                Mega Jump
                TOKZKNZA

                Moon Jump
                TKKZKNZA

                Higher Moon Jump
                TNKZKNZ

                      Yeah, that is a problem, but I think this will help:

                      Code:
                      Nemo Can Fly
                      AYSXUYEY
                      ZAVXSYPA
                      [B]NOTE: Jump or fall to start floating up. Press down to go down. Land on a surface to walk again. The physics are pretty much the same as being underwater, but you can land :) Doesn't affect the animals you can ride.[/B]
                      So it's actually a "Swim Everywhere" cheat, but it looks like you're flying, plus you can still land and walk around. The second code is a speed modifier for coming back down. Without it, you would go down too slowly which would make this cheat less fun.

                      I almost didn't make this code when I saw the "Fly" cheat in the database. But then I tried it... that code just makes you go up without the ability to come back down, which is not very fun at all.

                      Some items in the game are lodged in dirt, which still makes the "All Creatures Die In Your Presence" cheat unusable unless you have infinite keys. I've got a workaround in mind though...

                          Yep, the "Doors open without keys" code will definitely solve that problem. Good job.

                          The skipping of the monologue is a convenient code to have. It was alittle annoying everytime I wanted to play the game or test out a cheat code, to have to wait through the greeting creature's monologue at the beginning of the game. I wonder if that code also skips the monologue at the end of the game and/or the credits. I will find out soon enough once I have the time to replay this game. A code like that would be great for RPG type games where there are tons of monologues.

                            What I'd really like to do is improve on the flying cheat, so you're not constantly floating upward...
