  • Request: Super Hydlide (Genesis)

I'm looking for a code that makes it so items/gold don't weigh your character down and make you walk super slow.

To see this stat, you have to go to the Menu, then choose "Know Self". It will show your stats, then when you hit A again it will show the status screen.

The CW stat is your weight, but it is determined by the amount of Gold you have and possible the LC stat on that same screen. I bought a bundle of herbs and my CW went from 20 to 490.

I suppose I could just toggle my Gold stat when I am in a store but having an always low weight would be nice.

Now you're doing Genesis stuff? You're gonna go nuts man! :P

As for Hydlide, I don't know if you've played one before, but they don't quite work like normal RPGs where you buy everything in the store just 'cause you can. I suggest only buying what you need and increase your levels so that the weight you can carry goes up. At least that's how it works on Hydlide 3.

Hey Rey, I actually got really deep into the game today. I figured out the address for Experience and when I went to the wiseman to increase a level he will just keep increasing your level, as long as you have enough EXP points, which I do. This pretty much made the weight thing obsolete, since I seem to be able to kill stuff without even having a weapon seeing how I have super abilities now. Maybe it will get harder later on in the game...I don't know.

This is one of those games I had wanted to play over 20 years ago but never got around to it and figured I had a few hours to kill. Felt like a Genesis one so it was either this or Sword of Vermilion. I almost gave up on Super Hydlide until I figured out the EXP cheat.

Nope, that's it. As long as you have enough EXP, you can keep gaining levels.

Super Hydlide is the same as Hydlide 3, so if you want, you can use my FAQ too.

Hey "adaml", did you really beat every United States Nintendo games except 3??? If so, how many u.s. NES games are there and what are those 3 games you haven't beat yet. If this is true, thats crazy. Did you beat them all without using game genie codes or any other codes?? And in your opinion, what was the most difficult games to beat??

Please, not you too. Don't attempt to do that yourself. You'll go crazy, trust me. I tried, Adam tried, GForce tried, Kung Fu Furby tried and none of us are any happier.

You can check Adam's ending FAQ here:

                  Thanks Hybrid!

Yeah, Rey, I'll check out your guide. The FAQ for Super Hydlide on Gamefaqs is pretty vague. I spent 45 minutes wandering around the unlighted area where Varalys is hiding before I finally came across him. It says to look in the Northeast but he definitely wasn't there, plus the cave twists around a lot and shit.

OSG, GForce actually beat them all before me. I still have Uncharted Waters, Silent Service and Miracle Piano to play through but I have absolutely no desire to do so, especially where GForce enlisted the help of a piano specialist and that guy had trouble with it. And yes, I have beaten every single game without a single cheat.

Just kidding. Pretty much all of them in the last 10 years have been with cheats but before the Game Genie came out I had beaten quite a few in the late 80s, early 90s with no cheats. I kind of miss those days, as I look more fondly on those games that I struggled to beat without codes, though most of them would have been impossible to beat for me without them.

I did beat Sonic the Hedgehog back in college (unsober, I might add) without losing a life and with no warps. By the time I hit Robotnik we had about 25-30 people crammed in the dorm room watching to see if I could finish it off. Fun times

Oh yeah, I forgot about my poor blog. May have to resurrect that with some Super Hydlide stuff...

Well, my FAQ is actually vaguer because you are supposed to use it with the maps I made that SBallen didn't want to accept. But there are here for download if you want them:
                    http://www.cheatmsx.com/index.php?p=...=352&genid=992

There's a cave in the game that you will just not be able to beat without maps. This is assuming they kept the same layout in the Genesis version of course.

Without codes? The KOEI strategy games and all of the licensed crap games with horrible controls and hit detection.

Better keep it that way. In the "never heard of them" area.
