If anyone decides to play through this, the last boss strategy in the FAQ on Gamefaqs is wrong. It says to just keep shooting him after you disable his 4 legs and you will eventually outlast him. That is incorrect. After a frustrating 20 minutes or so I looked at Rey's guide for the MSX version and it says to let yourself get swallowed by the boss and blast him on the inside. I did this and the first time I died at exactly the same time as the boss. It gave me my 5000 EXP points but then I got the Game Over screen. The 2nd time I finished him off before he did me in and I got the ending.
