  • New codes, probably some dupes

There's probably a few duplicated codes in this set, but it's kind of old and I don't really want to look for all of the potential duplicates.

I have a ton of game addresses that I just never converted into usable PAR codes. I may get to work on them, but I have some simple little files that contain all the work already posted.

    http://www.angelfire.com/nc/ugetab/
Get the "UGE Module Reader & File Editor" and
the preliminary files. The ZIP size is a hefty 504kb, and includes addresses for SNES, NES, Gameboy and Genesis emulators. SNES=ZSnes, NES=Nesticle x.xx, Gameboy=No$Gmb(muliple versions used), Genesis=Genecyst x.xx

If you use the Module Reader to load an SNES module with a corresponding ZSNES file, you can edit the variables to your liking, and use the 'Get PAR Codes' button to get the codes needed to freeze the address to that value. Several of the documents with the modules include a few codes of interest near the top of the text.

I'm particularly pround of having defeated the Demon's Quest anti-cheat mechanisms, one of the few SNES games that could truely claim to have defense against GG/PAR codes.

The documents for the modules the codes were made from were initially made more than 5 years ago, and contain a number of rants that aren't related to the code addresses, so just wade through them or ignore the documentation.

    #-E List

This is most of the #-E list that i've made.
I'll get on to the other ones soon.

7E00F7??:Character Pose Modifier(Works only on the MAP)

    <Pose(0-?)>
This is the current character pose.
They made a LOT. One number for each pose
times the number of characters there are.
Most are Left and Right and a few also
    have Front and Back values.

You'll probably want to use the world map
stuff since you can change all the details
about which character, the palette and the
    pose, all in one go.

I had intended to only do a few, but
i ended up getting carried away.

If I had made that many unused graphics
i'd feel sorry for everyone involved.

    There are some glitchy numbers.
Keep going and you might find more.

Get all the equipment so you've
    turned gold, then add this.
Charge up to the level beyond
purple, an you'll get 3 shots.
    First the spinning gold balls,
    then the super shot, then
    you'll shoot a beam using zero's
    sword.

Don't use this early in the game.
It isn't meant to be found until you're
    well into the Final Lair.
If used on some bosses, it freezes the game.

    New codes, probably some dupes

Ok, so all the codes on this page are PAR right? If it is I'll get to posting them on the site. And if you want to convert the non par codes to par codes I'll be sure to add them also.

Yes, every code is a PAR code. When I'm not busy with any of the other cheat-related things I'm doing right now, and when I feel like it, I'll convert some codes.

I'm gonna see if I can get a few of these up tonight. My computer was giving me problems earlier and don't know if it will cooperate.

            New codes, probably some dupes

I got a request to label the overhead-view codes and the side-view codes, so here it is. (I also added several codes I had in my cheat file, but not my text file)

            Actraiser:
            Side-Scrolling Codes:
            7E001C98:Max. 99 Lives
            7E001D18:Inf. Body HP
            7E001E18:Max. Body HP
            7E00210A:Inf. Magic Points
            7E00E480:Have Sword Shot
7E00E709:Inf. Time(Turn it off when you beat the level, or leave it on with Frameskip = 9 for a while)

            Overhead-View Codes:
            7E028618:Inf. Angel HP
            7E028718:Max. Angel HP
            7E0282FF:Inf. 255 SP
            7E0284FF:Max. 255 SP
7E029563:Have 99 Magic Points (You can see this in the Status screen)

Note: If you try to grow a town without killing monsters, you'll notice that the village never grows. These codes allow you to grow your villages even if you have no monsters to feed off of. These are basically neccesary additions to the existing 'Monster lairs empty in Sim mode'. They should be placed and noted as such. (And they provide faster growing even if you keep the monsters around)

            7F9EFA7F:Fillmore Can Grow
            7F9EFC7F:Bloodpool Can Grow
            7F9EFE7F:Kasandora Can Grow
            7F9F007F:Aitos Can Grow
            7F9F027F:Marahna Can Grow
            7F9F047F:Northwall Can Grow

On that note, Lazy Bastard lived up to his name. He lazily forgot to try the 'Monster lairs empty in Sim mode' codes in any point of the game other than Area 1's overhead-view. (Don't make codes for unusual features in a game if you don't like the game enough to test the codes. You're likely to do yourself more harm than good.)

There are existing Item Modification codes and digits. My PAR codes after slot 8 seem to be wrong(not that I ever needed to use them for anything, since I can edit the save-states much more easily), but my Item Values list is more complete than the existing one.

              New codes, probably some dupes

I went through some of my text files to compare to the existing codes. Here's a few codes to add to the above:

(At least, I intended to only add a few. Turns out I had a few filed devoted to some of the games)

7E11E300:No Random Battles on World Map

(Turn 'Instantly Win Battles' off when you're on the World Map, because it makes you freeze in place when you turn it on, and makes it so you're vehicles won't be where you land. if that happens just use warp and go anywhere to get your ship back to where it should be. Don't use warp while this code is on or it will freeze the game.)

These codes should be used with caution. Sometimes you get stuck in the ceiling with the "Inf. Jumps" Code, and the Inf. New codes, probably some dupes

O yes, definately a impressive list. It'll fill out the SNES section nicely. I added a few more games to the site, I'll add more later.

I made these with an emulator, and have only tested a small portion of them. You'll have to yell at me if I got any of them wrong, as I converted them with a program of my own design.

I wish I could make codes out of the other half of the addresses I have. There's a lot of good stuff beyond the range a PAR code can modify. I can't even find those addresses with the SNES9X debugger.

                        Out of Battle codes:
These codes become effective once you're out of a battle, and out of the Menu:

Replace 'Special' with 'Game' in menu(Only when code is on)

The system used for this game is weird, so I'll keep it to 1 sane code.

Always have 99 FP in battle:
                        7EFA0C63
                        7EFA0D63

                        ------

These codes can easily delete items. Use a code for an empty slot, enable the code, enter the Items menu, disable the code, and leave the Items Menu. Failing to use an empty slot, or exiting the Items menu with the code on can cause you to sequentially replace items, one item for each time you exit the menu with a code on.

                        -----------------------------------------------

These codes can delete items. Use a code for an empty slot, enable the code, enter the Equipment menu, disable the code, and leave the Equipment Menu. The rules aren't as strict as with the Items menu, but there's still a possibility of accidental item deletion. Moving any equipment to or from a character will rearrange the equipment, possibly causing the item slots to point to different items. Any item in a slot with a code active will be replaced immediately, but will appear to be the same item until you exit and reenter the Equipment menu.

                          New codes, probably some dupes

                          Super Mario RPG:

                          Much-Harder-To-Find codes:
I don't know if these codes will work on a real Pro Action Replay, but they do work on both ZSNES and SNES9X.

There's still a few codes I want to make using yet another currently-unaccessible region of memory, but that may not be possible. I also noticed that the SNES9X debugger won't break when the addresses noted below are used as breakpoints. I'd have used them to try and make codes out of a few of them if I had a way to use them for breakpoints. The codes are banked every 0x4000 bytes, starting at 400000, and ending at around 780000. Only one of the breakpoints I tried to use for these addresses worked. It happens to be the original address in the area I had managed to track down, and even then, only on reads, not the write that happens a good 8 bytes later.

                          Ending Codes:
(These codes change the fireworks display in the ending, except possibly for 100 Fireworks, versus 5 fireworks)
                          4030EA00: Bought 0 Fireworks Total
                          4030EA01: Bought 1 Fireworks Total
                          4030EA02: Bought 2 Fireworks Total
                          4030EA03: Bought 3 Fireworks Total
                          4030EA04: Bought 4 Fireworks Total
                          4030EA05: Bought 5 Fireworks Total
                          4030EA64: Bought 100 Fireworks Total

                          Marrymore Wedding:

4030BAFF: Race Odds Always 127.5 to 1 (Not visible)
(A 1-cookie bet win will half-fill to the maximum)

                          Goomba Stomp:

                          ----------

                          Dangerous codes:
These are codes I know are capable of screwing up the game if used incorrectly, or if not disabled at certain times.

                          Stages:

4030620F: Have All Options in Menu
(Only use this code once you've gotten the 'Switch' menu option. If you choose to use it before getting 'Switch', then don't use the switch menu to edit characters. This lets you use the authentic 'Game' menu slot for free, as soon as you can access the menu.)

                          40307601: Invincibility On
                          40307600: Invincibility Off
While you're going to Monstro Town, you'll encounter a Whirlpool area, where you have to Beat a group of Shoguns. You need to turn off Invincibility BEFORE you enter the last whirlpool, or you'll be stuck in one spot. The last Whirlpool is next to the Big Cliff.
(I have a save-state address that can fix this problem, but I can't seem to find it in the game RAM)

You'll also need to disable invincibility after getting Castle Key 2 in the Nimbus Land castle. Once you see enemies again, you can reactivate invincibility. If you forget to disable invincibility, just go through the rest of the area, re-enter the front of the castle, work your way back to a point before the throne room, and then disable invincibility to get the game moving again.

                          Yoshi Race:
40202B01: Can win race with 1 cookie
(This code can freeze up the game. To use it, enable the code during a race, and disable it a little before you get to the finish line. If you don't disable it fast enough, you can get stuck, and never be able to finish the race.)

                          Edit:
Had to fix a small 'Code below/above' reference.

From what I've heard, A Game Genie can only modify ROM addresses. The memory addresses these codes reference is most definately a form of RAM. (But, I never used the GGCCC instructions on how to make a Game Genie work with an SMRPG cart)
