  • I can't get the 16-bit Space Invaders to run effectively, and I'm pretty well done trying. An attempt was made to get any sound effects available, but that also didn't work out. That's it for my interest in it, for the moment at least.

    • I got the DK94 voice samples to have no echo. I also sent the sets to SNESmusic in the information section.

      • These seem to be more accurate. I ripped them a while ago, but didn't upload them anywhere.

          • I found another method games can use to transfer SPC data. If you see a game using the JUMP command while starting up, there's a possibility that data is being transferred to the SPC generating routine, in an identical way to SOU_TRN.

Beach Volleyball does this, and the only tip-offs of it transferring music was that no title screen music played, and a SOUND packet that used the music byte was shown.

Got it all ripped, and it includes quite likely the highest number of total tracks I've seen in an SGB game, as well as the highest number of voice samples.

            • It does use Enhanced sound, I tried BGB in Gameboy mode. Could you possibly please try ripping it? I couldn't even try to rip it because it uses a Jump instruction which I'm very unfamiliar with. I'm still new at this stuff. Sorry for the mass edits and bad grammar I'm doing lots of stuff right now.

              • It's ripped. I just wanted to make note of the JUMP packets being able to transfer music data.

This particular set was so intensive on transfers that I wrote a program to copy the data from a save-state(combined with proper debugger breakpoint understanding) to an SPC file. It was like the complexity of Donkey Kong's voice samples combined with the single-song structure of Animaniacs. It'll be usable for the same purpose in the future now, as well, which will make even the most daunting SGB rips easy as mindless button pressing for me. Others would still be stifled by dealing with the assembly.

                • I'm actually surprised that are more games. Even voice samples! I gotta buy this game!

                  • Ripped Fifa Soccer '97

Also, Here's as close as I can get to an SGB color code for BGB's default color scheme:
                    0171-5628-6307

                    • That game would not run in any emulator tried. What was wrong with it?

                      • You got a bad rip of it? I tried it, saw the SOU_TRNs, and ripped it then. I use BGB almost exclusively(pocket family 1 or 2 GBS being the only time I recall used a VBA tracer to find stuff)

                        • I tried a few copies of the rom. I still need to tag and time both new sets so expect that to be done in less than a week. HCS forum should also note that I helped you to some degree more or less.

                          • How the hell are 'helping me', besides tagging? I've proven my mettle many times over for not having to rely on the work of other people. When I do rely on previous efforts, I make note of it. If you want to tag it, and be listed as the tagger, just do it, damn it! I'll be updating the sets with timing info with any luck, so you might want to wait for that update.

Also, SNESMusic.org isn't going to be responding to any e-mails about SGB sets for quite some time, as Knurek is the only one currently able to do anything with the site. The other maintainer has a broken comp.

                            • Hey I helped you with the music modifier code needed. And I re-ripped and discovered the Animaniacs variants. I'm done talking about this. I have lots to do right now.
