  • Timed all the SGB SPC sets.

    ---

The Animaniacs variants are 'borked', as in Broken versions which play a single channel of the song, at the wrong speed for the most part. I didn't need help to find the music mod, and I didn't look at it, as it's not in the GSHI database, and I would've noticed it if it had been. I found extra sound variations because I found additional data on how the music system works. If you weren't here, I'd still have the rips completely done. I'd still be going through all the games on the SGB list to see if there was something missed by other people. If you hadn't posted the code in question, I'd still have found it just as easily, because I can look at the packet interpreter in the SGB code itself(as I did to update some pandocs info). I just plain don't need your help when it comes to SNES/SGB info. Some people make the same codes a few times. It's easy to spot a stealer from a maker, because a maker overlaps a couple of times with created codes, while a stealer overlaps greatly with existing codes. You didn't program an SPC generating program and figure out the SPC700/2140-2143 connection. You didn't work with BGB and read up on how to intercept the SGB packet sending routine. I even gave you a sizable chance to post the Animaniacs set as proof that you weren't a lump on a log, and you just twiddled your fingers until I posted it, then said you'd gotten it done already.

Also, how did you 're-rip' the Animaniacs tracks, when I'm the one who's supplying the basis SPC files for all these games? You could change byte 0x0100 in my files and get the variations effortlessly. That's what I changed in my method to make it easy as hell to see if there's extra stuff.

It's alright to be a bit of a snob and request co-author status once you've provided technical help that's beyond my usual fare(SPC700 info related to the project, which I had to discern on my own), or in advance of a project(SGB packet info, which I also had to go out and look for), but you haven't yet. Also, what does HCS's forum have to do with making SGB SPC rips? Why do you need to be mentioned there, when I've seen you able to post there yourself. Go tell anyone who'll listen what you want them to know, and quit thinking that I'm going to validate your statements.

As far as SGB info goes, I owe more to ReyVGM for keeping the wiki page in a good state, then I do to you.

Alright, I've figured out how to be level-headed on this, finally.

Nensondubois, I hereby bequeath the task of finding a missing SGB game(which I intend to leave missing for a while, until you come crying for the name), whereby you will be unrestricted as to how you will get it converted to SGB under your own mettle and knowledge, and whereby you will stop trying to claim that I need to do anything more for you. Now, get to finding and ripping this missing game, you whiney little bastard!

    • I'm not whiny. HCS forum has nothing to do with this, I apologize on that part. There are no other games I know of that use SPC enhanced music. And well I could post the Animaniacs set and all the others that I spent the time to re-rip each set except Beach Volleyball because JUMP is probably different, (I never attempted it) I re-ripped them myself but since you already do have the sets and it would be exactly the same, it's pointless to post them and the simple fact that you wouldn't expect me to have have done it would just make matters worse so therefore I will not post them. Maybe I should stay minimalistic and hack codes for the time being.

      • Nah, you've stepped in it this time.

Rip "Men In Black - The Series". Don't get cushy in low thought mode. You've been raising a stench about getting credit for this stuff for a while, now MUSH!

        • Men in Black - The series GBC doesn't have enhanced music. I have the cart and I know. Is posting a link to the rom allowed for proof? Until further notice I'm going to play Kyntt Stories.

          • Rip the SGB music from it anyways, you dolt. You want to be recognized? Don't be an ignorant, self-important dumbass. If anything tells me who and what you are, it's that you dismiss my thoughts whimsically, and obviously didn't even check. You hardly deserve credit for the tagging.

            • I don't know how to rip GBS files. Only simple stuff like getting a savestate from SGB commands and cutting and pasting parts from the GB savestate and putting it in a ZST. I don't know how to rip GBS files. I'm going to stay a mainstream code hacker, that's all from now on. I don't even know what to do with the new JUMP command. I only followed the steps you provided earlier. Nothing more nothing less and it took all of my free time re-ripping the sets. I'm not doing any more of this ripping stuff. Also note that I still couldn't get the title variations in A Bug's Life either.

              • There's a SOU_TRN in the game you little kid. It's the easiest type there is to rip. Don't go blabbering about how much credit you need to get if you can't do the part that counts.

I could rip the GBS no problem, but that's not what I asked for. I asked for the SGB music. If you can't do that, then you don't get co-authorship of anything, and that's definitive by your lack of action. I gave how-to instructions, told you the game, and even gave you numerous example rips. If you can't do it with that much info, you don't get credit for helping me rip them. Tag the names to your heart's content, and you'll be listed separately as the tagger if SNESMusic.org takes them. Don't think you get props for technical prowess though, as that requires that you actually manage to combine disparate information into a usable end result. If you showed a capacity for action in tech areas, I might have been inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt, but when you act like any other poser, then you won't get any help from me.

                On a related note:
I updated CaitSith2's SPC Timing program to work better for my needs. Here's a link:

                • Would you like to test that thing on Time Slip? That Title Screen tune is so hard to do... it is currently not timed to two loops.

                  Comment

                  • The command "spc_timer -v 480 tslip-01.spc"
                    produced this:
                    tslip-01.spc: Time: 3:06.131, Intro: 0:01.857, Loop: 1:32.137(2), Check

So it's 3:06 for time, with a 1 second intro, and the first loop point is at 1:32+ intro time.

Listening to it tells me that the loop point is closer to 3:08 for the second loop, and 1:37 for the first loop point. Not that difficult. It got within 2 seconds of what I'm earing it to, because the actual song loop point starts at around 6.8 seconds into the song. I checked the supposed loop points after that, and they seem to have dynamically increasing pitch.

                    • Anyone have a list of what SGB games have enhanced music? I'll add them to the SGB list wiki too since most of the info I posted there is about borders.

                        • hmm interesting. I didn't know the Japanese Harvest Moon has custom music. Also I will be getting Japanese games to see if their enhanced music runs on a US NTSC SNES. The DK unidentified voice may be Paula's second Help shout. There are three heard in game.

                          • The extra stuff I listed isn't games with extra music, it's stuff on the wiki page(which ReyVGM maintains) that may need to be looked at.

I added "Pokonyan! - Yume no Daibouken", and "Pro Mahjong Kiwame GB" to my page.

Also, I edited the SPC_Timer to be a bit better with 'one shot' tracks, as far as winamp timing goes.
