I tried the addresses around the code you made but those damned missiles from the final boss at the end of Round 18 are just hard to avoid. Has anyone here actually beaten Afterburner?? Too bad there isn't a code to make the plane stop firing its missilesOriginally posted by Mezmorize View PostI personally prefer using Fusion.
I'm lookin' into your request right now.
But sadly, you die from one hit, so it's definitely gonna be a challenge.
Edit:
No luck yet, this is as close as I have got:
00C0FB:??
That address is 0 under normal conditions, but when you get hit, the number goes up to 38 or so.
Well, I tried for quite a while with no luck.
Sorry, I may try again later, got burnt out on it for a while.
You can always just use the infinite planes code, I got up to stage 6 with it, just trying to find the code.

Thanks Mezmorize. I'm trying to get good at making codes on Fusion. I made an Action Replay code for SMS Montezuma's Revenge.

Enemies Don't Hurt You (other objects will though)
Not sure if I will keep making codes for games. If I come up with any more I will start a separate thread

Sounds good.
If you want improved searching abilities, use Cheat Engine in conjunction with Fusion.

Here, try this one.
I'll show you my way, somewhat.
I won't go into full detail on how to get the RAM address, since you already know how...
Let's see, the next game I was gonna continue from was:
Scramble Spirits (UE) [!].sms
First off, it's not that I particularly like the type of infinite health codes I've been makin', it's just that they are vastly unhacked for the SGG/SMS.
Unlike Whipon's guide, I don't use mess to find RAM addresses, I still prefer Cheat Engine.
I use Fusion to test all the codes, RAM or ROM, mess is just for findin' addresses (again, this is just my opinion).
Fusion + Cheat Engine:
Ok, after loading the game, take a hit and pause the emulation while blinking. (Forward/PAUSE/Break Keyboard Key)
(Note: To truly pause emulation, (as in taskmanager cpu usage) I use Alt+G...)
Start a RAM search using an 'Unknown Initial Value' byte scan.
Press the Pause key again to resume gameplay and quickly re-pause emulation.
Continue the scan by choosing 'Decreased Value'.
Continue until your no longer blinking, and once again pause the emulation.
Continue your scan by choosing 'Exact Value = 0'. (Out of all the SGG/SMS codes like this I've made so far, all but two use the value of 0 for not blinkin')
Once you've found the correct address, I use CE to find out what a good max value is, instead of just sticking FF as a value...
While the emulation is paused with you not blinking (value of 0), freeze the value in CE, and click the '+' plus mark beside of it.
Take a hit, and it will freeze at a good max value. Right click the value and choose to show in hex for the output PAR code.

I personally just paste the CE address into a spreadsheet to automatically convert it to an actual AR address, but you can convert it like so:
Use Alt+G to open the code finder in Fusion and click the button that says Count (or reset if you don't see count).
Make your first search for your value (decimal) that is showing in CE, after pressing Find, press OK.
Change the value in CE, and make your 2nd scan in Fusion for the new value, and that's all, should have found it that quick...

I've found it important to test the PAR code in Fusion, to make sure the value don't make you invisible.
If it does, just decrease the value by one until you are visible again...
OK, now equipped with a RAM address, it's time for MESS.
wp C237,1,w
Keep continuing after the debugger breaks until you notice the same address over and over writing to RAM.
OK, here's a picture worth a thousand words:

You can see a line of coding that says to decrease the RAM address.
That code line is ROM address 2385 decreasing RAM address C237.
In the image you can see the value DD is at the ROM address 2385.
So far, the unencrypted Game Genie code to test in Fusion would be:
RRAAAA:??
RR=Replace this value at
AAAA=ROM address
:=With
??=New Value
DD2385:??
So, I'll try to NOP that decrease, so the full code would be:
DD2385:00
