          • Ah, I didn't try 2 buttons at the same time.
Well, off to bed for me.

Seems I only missed the 1+2.
The menu pops up right after it.

            • Do these Game Gear push button codes work for their SMS counterparts? I remember someone saying most Game Gear releases are identical to the SMS releases of the same game.

                • I can't think of any push button codes I'd want to see, but a code that would instantly let you win a race in SMS Road Rash or one that would let you destroy a building in one hit in SMS Rampage would be cool.

                  • The Fantastic Dizzy code works for both systems, but I'm not sure about the rest.
I'll likely test SMS games next after I finish the SGG.

                        • It seems to not do anything for the Game Gear, except change the music playing at the Title Screen.
But, for the SMS, that same code gives you a level select, after losing a life.

                            • Congratulations, on finding all of those button cheats, Mez!

I was looking into some GG and SMS games myself a couple of days ago. If you can, check out that Dragon: Bruce Lee game. I'm trying to get use to the Kega searcher again, but I'm not really feeling it (like I did years ago). The other Gens mods don't show the GG/SMS addresses. So, all I'm left to try now is Cheat Engine. I'm not too fond of using programs not targeted for a specific system (well... I drag a bunch of stuff into ps2dis and am successful doing so. ). It just requires extra work when you find addresses and have to convert them to the system's own.

I'll try throughout the year, if I can, to go through the entire SNES and Genesis/32X library.

                              • Thanks a lot!
I owe it to you, since you taught me.

I had came across it before, but didn't put 2 and 2 together.
At the time I thought those counters were just specific to those couple games.

I just booted Bruce Lee and loaded a save with the game paused, so I already checked this game.
If I hadn't checked it already, it would have said 'Error loading save' (cause the save wouldn't have existed).
I'm not doing any scans for codes that start with 2 buttons at the same time yet, so you could try that.

                                Fusion's cheat searcher sucks.
The only time I use it is for a quick Cheat Engine to PAR conversion.

If you want to use Cheat Engine in a way that a normal code searcher would be, you can use the very first spreadsheet in my signature.
You can use the spreadsheet to tell you the exact area to scan for RAM addresses.

                                To use it:
                                1. Load the Game Gear game X-Men.
                                2. At the menu, use CE to make the code Menu Highlighting Modifier.
                                3. Click 'Click to edit' on the spreadsheet and Ctrl+V the found address.
                                4. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V the 2 output address into CE.
Now you'll only be scanning the exact area of RAM, instead of the whole emulator and all.
