Did you try this?

For example, to select Jack you must enter these three codes:
CB7C-7DAD
DD7C-7F0D
D77C-7FDD

As you can see two addresses must be entered without modification and in the last one you must replace ?? with the two letters corresponding for the character you want to select.

If that doesn't work I will try to remake it.

I tested those codes made by Hackwiz and they worked fine. I will take a look to see if some other code can be made. But if those don't work for you I don't know if mines will work for you.

Ok, after looking at the code of the game and the codes made by Hackwiz I must say that those are perfectly clean codes and much more like the same codes I should had done if I was in his place.

But, I found a way to have the same effect with just one code, and probably a little better as you can see also the face of the character you are about to chose.
