  • NES Fire Emblem Gaiden

I am currently coding out Fire Emblem Gaiden(in English) for FCEU-NES. Since it's a translation, it's a real pain in the ass to PROPERLY code out, but I've accepted the challenge.

I'm currently working on character stat codes, but here are the item codes. I would appreciate any help in finding class modifier codes, "use/equip any item" codes, or "enable non-magic users to use magic" codes.

Remember, these codes are for the POSITION ON THE ROSTER, and not any particular char. Your best bet is to give each char the proper weapon & then D/C the codes.

    "Item Equipped" codes:

    Alm's party...
    CHAR 1
    6B03 XX
    CHAR 2
    6B0F XX
    CHAR 3
    6B1B XX
    CHAR 4
    6B27 XX
    CHAR 5
    6B33 XX
    CHAR 6
    6B3F XX
    CHAR 7
    6B4B XX
    CHAR 8
    6B57 XX
    CHAR 9
    6B63 XX
    CHAR 10
    6B6FXX
(Alm's party can have more than 10 chars, but only 10 can be active at any time. If ya switch chars to & from the active list, that formerly-inactive char gains whatever stats you have entered for that position.Ya might wanna make sure each has the proper weapon.)

    Celica's party...
    CHAR 1
    6B78 XX
    CHAR 2
    6B87 XX
    CHAR 3
    6B93 XX
    CHAR 4
    6B9F XX
    CHAR 5
    6BAB XX
    CHAR 6
    6BAF XX
    CHAR 7
    6BC3 XX
    CHAR 8
    6BCF XX
    CHAR 9
    6BDB XX
    CHAR 10
    6BE6 XX
    CHAR 11
    6BF3 XX
    CHAR 12
    6BFF XX
    CHAR 13
    6C47 XX
    CHAR 14
    6C53 XX
    CHAR 15
    6C5F XX

This post's gonna be too long, so I'm gonna put the Items digits on another post.

Re: NES Fire Emblem Gaiden...Items digits

Below are the items digits for Fire Emblem Gaiden, for use with the "have item" codes on the previous post. Keep in mind that they still won't permit a given char for using an item he/she can't ordinarily use...and some items such as the Magics can't be equipped at all. Thought I'd include them anyway to enable other hackers to possibly find codes to enable any char to use any magic. I'll work on'em, too, but right now my time is limited , so don't wait around for me.

I have used the spellings as found in the game, w/the correct spelling in parentheses.

Re: NES Fire Emblem Gaiden...MOVE code!

Anyone trying to find a movement code that doesn't reset the game? Forget using the 7491 addy! Here's a code that WORX that hasn't reset the game after five full playings.

      00C5..019(Decimal)

This code doesn't allow UNLIMITED movement, but so far it's worked perfectly for all but Jenni in Celica's party, until you can promote her to Nun. However, if the value is set above 019 decimal, all sortsa goofy shit happens & your game borfs.

        Re: NES Fire Emblem Gaiden

OK, I now have the FCEU "char's stats" codes done for NES Fire Emblem Gaiden! However, a few words before I list the codes: In Alm's party, only ten sets of codes are necessary, as generally only 10 chars can participate in a given battle. When you acqure a new char that makes the party larger than ten chars, merely exchange his/her position with any char exc. Alm to fully power-up the new char. However, keep his/her usable weapon in mind.

When fully powering-up a char's stats to 99, any equipped weapon or shield will have its offensive or defensive value added to 99 so that the number will show much less than 99. However, just ignore the number; the power or defense is still maxed out.

I found that entering the level value as 120 will enable your chars' levels to stay at 20, but will restore them after they receive a class promotion, enabling you to promote each char to the max by simply speaking to the same stone goddess again, in the same visit. Thus, Alm can become a Hero in the first shrine.

Placing Cliff in the 4th position before the first battle will cause him to become an archer. With the 'level' code, he can become a Bowman in the first shrine! When you acquire the archer Pay later, you'll have three powerful bowmen in your party, including Alm if you equip him with a bow!

For whatever reason, these codes can be quirky, so if ya cannot enable a char to have fully powered-up stats, try switching his/her position within the party. This does not affect their classes, ecxept with Cliff, as noted above. Once Cliff becomes a Bowman, you can move him to any position in the party & he remains a Bowman. And once any char is within either party, you can promote him/her once he/she is under a 'level' code, even if that char isn't within your active party.

Speaking of promos...When a knight becomes a Paladin, the next promo offered is to Knight. This is a retrogression, as Paladin is a better class. Same as Magic Knight or other to Villager or Soldier. Once you retrograde a char, you cannot promote him/her again! Just say "no" to the class change offered, & the dialogue will switch to the next char whose class can be changed. If you're unfamiliar with this game, go to a wakkthrough on Game Faqs or similar site to learn about the various classes so you'll know which is the best class for any char.

OK, here are the codes!(IN DECIMAL)

          Re: NES Fire Emblem Gaiden

As promised, I'll post Celica's party's codes shortly. First, some words about them...

There are fifteen sets of char codes for this party. However, they sometimes don't work; why, I don't know. In this event, just switch the chars' positions as described in the previous post. Afterwards, you can switch'em back if ya wish. The number of chars in this party who will participate in a given battle varies, but all chars will eventually take part in some battle, so be sure to code out all of'em. All the other quirks for class promos on the previous post apply here also.

Also, a note on weapons. The only essential weapon to equip anyone with is the falcion for Alm. It's the only weapon that'll kill the final boss Doma.

One more note...any codes I've found for mag def & counter don't affect the game & will eventually crash it. Note that in each set of codes, I skip a digit between HP & POW. That's because that's an "exp" code, which doesn't work, either.

          CHAR 1.........

Another little quirk about this crazy-ass game: It WILL reset on its own, with NO codes in use! It did so on me; it blacked out the whole screen & re-appeared as ABADOX, which is among my FCEU NES roms! Never saw anthing like THAT before!

Damfino. The emu worked perfectly with other games afterward.

I suspect it's in the FEG rom, as it's a translation, still fulla numbers for speech at times.

Oh, well...the game & the codes work fine mosta the time. I'd recommend saving the game often. Think I'll work on "Magic of Scheherazade" next. I noticed some of its codes made by me don't work properly, & I do NOT want anyone having a bad code from me!

Good codes. It will probably take a bit before I put them up. In the future could you avoid using ... as a seperator? and also put the code name before the code. That is the standard format that Ugetabs site manager uses so it will save time if there is alot of codes. Thanks.

Generally this is what I use when I type out codes... I've had no trouble getting this processed by Ugetab's program.

                      Name Of Code
                      code
                      Name Of Code 2
                      code

If you're specifically formatting the codes for that program, you can put "(note text here)" after a code's name, and it will correctly format a note. I don't remember off the top of my head if it handles line breaks in notes though...
