Sega Saturn GameShark RE codes not working?

So I tried a bunch of codes from this site for Resident Evil on Saturn with a GameShark. Like the character change ones and the crate o goodies and all items in chest, etc. I tried the game and nothing changes or comes from the codes, I tried looking at the codes over and over and the master code and tried a few things and nothing seems to work. Am I doing something wrong or what's going on?

First off this is the wrong section, second what version of the game do you have? USA, European? and third what master code are you using?

I will move this to the proper section.

Oh and I just tested the codes on the USA version and they work fine, you can't have too many codes on at a time either which is why the have all item codes is broken into sets to be used 1 at a time then save reset and repeat. Check the Master code too as that might be the issue as well.

Sorry it looked like a help section so I figured it went there, but yea I guess this makes sense too lol.

Anyway I have USA and I'm using the master code on this site posted under the USA section

You could always try the alternate master code to see if that helps but like I said try one code set at a time because there is a limit to what the GS can handle (something like 10 or so codes at a time active).

what version is your gameshark?

I agree with Helder

try with 3 single line codes for starters

Mine is 1.91 maybe that's why? Is there newer versions out (saw a youtube video with 1.95 so yes lol) and is it possible to update?

Also I've I started the game with only one 1 line code and that didn't work. So that's when I tried all items in box and that didn't work either. I'm gonna try out some more codes now to see if anything happens. Also I see the RE page was updated yesterday (master code and something else) but so far still nothing is working. So we'll see what happens or if I have too old of a version? I've tried a few master codes and no other ones start the game so I don't think that's it.

I checked the master code address to see if it brought up during play so it's an effective hook and it is. I will post some for you to try.

I've already tried 924 that one doesn't but I'll try it with the FFFF and see what happens, are you sure I don't need a newer version?

Ok I tried doing the code where you can put items in your inventory slots and that worked.

The ones that didnt work were:
Changing the characters with the storylines codes
All items in chests
Crate O Goodies

Maybe I tried too many codes at once though but I have tried the storyline codes by themselves and cant get them to work, not sure why. I'll keep messing around. I did find some other codes from another site that says you can play as Barry and Rebecca but those didn't work either. I'm just trying to have a different experience playing through this game for the umpteenth time lol but so far that's not working

Oh by the way this is my first time playing this game on the Saturn lol

Perhaps you do, but if I was you I would go with the Action Replay 4in1 as that has versions 2.02 so these codes will definitely work. I think they for for around $30 and have built in back up memory so it's way better than the GS.

Well mine has memory too but yea your probably right, I dont wanna have to buy another thing of the same but if it means getting these codes to work I might have to.

What about updating though, is that still possible for this gameshark? Maybe that might help some

There is an update disc but it's for the AR and you need a modchip to boot it. You say your GS has built-in memory like backup memory? If so you can update to AR 2.02

sound like your GS is not Constant Write the codes into RAM

1. bad master code or master code incompatible with your saturn or GS

2. your GS might be corrupted or outdated.

@Helder Yes it has the backup memory, I think they all did for the Saturn, no? Anyway I just received my Phantom Universal mod-chip yesterday actually. Problem is I have no idea how to install it yet lol. So maybe you could help me out with the updating part once I get the chip working?

@lee4 Probably just an outdated GameShark, I guess I'll find out if I ever get everything working and updated

Edit: The backup memory is actually the reason I got the GameShark lol the codes part was just an added bonus that I thought I would never use, but now that I'm back into the Saturn I wanna try some cool codes!

It should be an easy install and there is simple guide on Assemblers Forum which is where you got the chip, once you get the chip installed and working I will help you get it flashed with the AR 2.02.
