GForce, I was working on PSX games, but I have a temporary burnout on'em right now.
I started working on NES FFIII, as I couldn't get all the existing codes in the "Codes" page here to work, either on an unpatched Japanese ROM, or on an English-language patched one. I've tried them on FCEU 0.98 & FCEUX 2.1.5. Tony Hedstrom's GG codes work, but I can't get the FCEU "stats" codes by the late, great Ugetab to work, nor those by DLong. For example, the "Stats" screen will show an Attack value of 255, but it's actually still an 07 or similar. The HP codes work imperfectly, but they still start your chars with many more HP than normal.
If I'm successful, I'll post'em in a separate thread.Last edited by Phil The Hammer; 07-08-2013, 11:30:32 AM.I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.

Thanks for the info Phil. I did also have some trouble with FFIII HP codes but I still got through the game. Wow, pretty epic and compelling. I'm still smashing through games by any means necessary right now. Not really finessing any new codes or walkthroughs.

A big thanks to legendary NES master, Andrew Schultze for all his help and knowledge. Some of these codes may unknowingly be from his walkthrough as well.

This next one must be the most disturbing, weirdest, most complicated games Ive ever played for the NES. If anyone else out there has played it, let me know what you think. "F'ed up" is the best way I would describe it.

Aren't those games in Japanese? How did you figure out what to do and where to go if there are no ROM translations of the game?Originally posted by ReyVGM View PostYeah I finished it. The Megami games are always fucked up.Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. Theres a vague walkthrough on GameFAQs for the SNES and its been appropriated to the NES version of it too. Its pretty complicated with tons of dungeons, enemies, cities, items to buy, and all kinds of weird demonic and technical imagery. Something about a computer program unleashes demons upon the world and you have to recruit them, cross breed them, and use them to fight on your side. Then you take on Beazlebub, Lucifer, Satan, and God as the final bosses. Maybe I'll play the SNES version someday to understand the story because its a real mindb
I'm sure its a stellar game, with mind blowing possibilities but its tough playing it in Japanese. I got through it by following the video walkthroughs from Nico Nico Video. Thats like the Japanese version of YouTube. The site is primarily in Japanese as well but I can tell you how to find hundreds of game walkthroughs on that site. Its not that hard at all, just PM me if you want the simple instructions.
