      Well, Ace is now taking over creative control of the game now. It sounds like he has alot of good ideas. Hopefully we will be seeing a demo within a short amount of time.

        Well, I guess Ace wants to work on his own game using RPGmaker 2003. So I went ahead and worked on my version some more. Here is the latest version.

        This version is pretty big cause I used custom music/graphics. I played it thru a couple times and didnt' come across any bugs, but if you find some let me know.

            Just to clarify:
            I am not working on my own game, I am still working on GSHI Battle; GSHI Battle is the only game that I am working on.
            I've spent pretty much all week working on the battle system, (IT WILL WORK, eventually)
            and making/editing sprites.

            I am also beginning to think that you guys don't think I can pull this off.. I've made a CBS work in the past, however, so put your fears to rest.
            I am downloading some RM2K games with CBS's now so I can use them as a reference; this'll speed the progress up.

            Here're some of the things that are almost done in this game:
            1) Battle Menu System; the main menu is operational. The sub menus are currently not.
            2) Damage calculations, Damage display, HP and MP display.
            3) Battle Graphics

            Things that need to be done:
            1) Finish the Battle System.
            2) New tile sets
            3) Character sets (I still need yours, LMZ)
            4) Battle Character Sets: So far, I've only got Lazy's partially done
            5) Forge/Alchemy System
            6) Formulating character specific ATB speeds; finding a good formula is proving to be quite difficult.

            Yes, my over all progress is quite low. However, keep in mind that working on something like this from the ground up takes time.
            I will try to get a working demo out in a week or two. Although, don't be surpirsed if I don't.

              I'm not really sure what you mean by not being lined up, perhaps you mean the white on top of the ceilings? That isn't really a glitch. Its the result of the tileset I got.

              Well, I don't know if any of your comments are directed at me but...I know alot can be pulled off with scripting. If you play the demo you'll notice I got a few scripts at work.

                Eh, it's just the vibes I've been getting from people, not only you ;P
                I've tried your new version out; pretty nice.

                BTW, upload the devolopment version of the game so I can edit in your maps.

                  I'll get you those sprites as soon as I dig them up.

                  I'm not sure if it's around anywhere, but I think at one point I saw something explaining how FF4's ATB calculations were done. It's quite possible I'm just remembering it wrong.

                    I saw some of the work ace has done with my demo and its pretty good. It has a new title screen and new mountain set for the overworld. I don't know what the title screen music is. Anyway, good work on the demo ace.

                        Here're some fairly new screenshots:

                        -The main menu system, HP Display, ATB Gauge, and Item sub menu all work! (Though there're some things to be worked out with the item menu..)



                        -This one is of the world map.. Look closely, and you'll see "Smilies Island", where all of the fugly SMF smilies originated from. Oh my!

                          hehe Smiles Island looks ummm well happy But the little critters themself look 'sickly'.... hmmm this must be one of those Final Fantasy type thing where a dragon stole their energy cystal and it makes them sick so must go get it back. hehe well to be seen, I guess, but the world does otherwise look very interesting there.

                            All we need is some sorta battle background to make it look more like a battle. can you put a temporary one up there so we can see what it would look like? I really like how you filled out the world map tho. I only did the outisdes of the map. I didn't feel like doing the middle so you've saved me the effort.

                            I think maybe by the time we get our next demo out we should create a subsection on the site devoted to GSHI Battle. With a few pictures and description and a download link.
