The parsing sounds like it would be just fine, might want to also add something to ignore codes within quotation marks to not mark all of the questions about specific codes. I probably wouldn't need to use colors and bold and stuff in code titles in threads any more. I always did that to make it easier to spot things scrolling through pages.

I'm for keeping the Thanks/Likes/Dislikes buttons. What's so bad about showing appreciation (Thanks! button) to somebody that has helped you. Or letting somebody know you like (Like button) their codes/news story/comment that they've just posted. These buttons make it easier and quicker for users to show gratitude, appreciation, and respect to other users. It also makes the forum less cluttered. I think those buttons are a great idea and I hope they are kept. Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

I don't mind the thanks/like button, because it actually avoids me having to type "thanks", and just so that I'm not a complete asshole, it also reduces the amounts of posts in a thread.
What I don't like are those lonely people begging for thanks/likes/reps as if that's going to increase their dick size.
