A few general playing tips for playing Free-For-All, which can sometimes apply to other types of matches:

If someone shoots at you & misses, run around a corner or into a doorway, etc. & go prone, making sure you're facing the direction from which you came. Your enemy, even if experienced, will often dash after you, trying for an easy kill. You can often ambush him this way.

Use the "Last Stand" perk often. You will score a surprising number of killf from it! BLAZE AWAY with your pistol while in "Last Stand", at any target you see. With "Stopping Power", usually three hits from the M9 will kill a foe. The deadliest 'Last Stand' weapon i've found is the Raffica machine pistol. To have it in Last Stand, you must have it equipped as your secondary weapon.

Also, in Last Stand, throw a grenade if you have one, where you think an enemy may be. You have nothing to lose, as you're dying anyway! I use Semtex much of the time, and I have many times stuck one onto an enemy who was rushing in to finish me off.

Another Last Stand tip...You can still Melee-attack! I have scored over 50 kills of over-eager foes with Melee while in Last Stand!

If you shoot an enemy & he falls on his back & no score is registered for you, he's in Last Stand. He's easily dispatched with a shot or two; be sure to do it so he can't shoot you, or someone else shoots him & steals your kill. Many players simply Melee a foe who's in last Stand, but this has its risks. Some foes will drop a Claymore or C4 in a suicide move to take his killer with him, or, like myself, will use every weapon possible before dying. Safest move is shoot him ASAP when ya realize he's a Last-Stander.

Every map has a few good campsites where you may wait for an enemy to cross your path in relative safety. However, the game makers have made sure there are several routes possible to every such site, so you cannot cover them ALL with Claymores. Some of the best places on any map with buildings are corners within these buildings. While it doesn't cover every route an enemy can take to you, it at least covers your 6. After you've shot several foes from your campsite, it's time to move on to a slightly-different spot. Very often, a foe will toss a grenade or launch an explosive at your site, and, having moved, you'll often be in position for an ambush.

When "camping", or suddenly finding yourself in a firefight, GO PRONE as often as you can. You'll be a more-difficult target.

Remember, seeking the "high ground" can work against you as well as for you. For example, getting onto the scaffoldong outside one of the buildongs in the "High Rise" maps gives you a large field of fire, it also makes you a sitting duck for anyone who's a good long-range shot or has a "noob tube".

Speaking of "noob tubes", which are grenade launchers, or other surface-to-surface explosives launchers...there's quite a debate going on about noob tubes being "sissy" weapons, their users being "cheap-shot artists" who can't fight with regular guns, etc. The FACT is that NOOB TUBES ARE PART OF THE GAME, & I can promise you that as you advance to higher levels, MANY FOES WILL USE THEM AGAINST YOU, so DON'T place yourself at a disadvantage by not using them! There's NO such thing as a "sissy weapon" in this game! ALL weapons are available to EVERY player if he/she can advance to the higher levels.

Set up your classes carefully! For example, if I'm using the SCAR as my promary weapon, I set up one class with the Raffica or other "Last Stand" weapon as my secondary, and another class, still with the SCAR as my primary, with the Stinger as my secondary, for use on maps where enemy aircraft are a real menace, such as Afghan or Wasteland. Same with perks-choose carefully. It takes EXPERIENCE to decide which weapons/equipment/perks are best for each player in each map. That's some of the "beauty" of this game...there's no "one size fits all" weapon or perk.

While I have made umpteen cheat codes for consoles, I do NOT cheat, nor have any tolerance for cheaters on these online games where players compete against one another on what's supposed to be an even playing field. The first online game I played was Halo 2, and cheaters were beginning to outnumber the legitimate players, & I became discouraged. Now I realize that with millions of players, someone's gonna find a glitch in a game that can be used for cheating, and are gonna use it, and I also realize that we look for every possible LEGITIMATE advantage when we play, but again I have no use for outright cheaters in online play. I hope everyone keeps the cheating limited to the single-player campaign in this game.
