Here's a little article I posted on the GSCentral forums:
As an older gamer, I've seen a lot come and go. And although I'm now 58 YOA, I WAS a teenager once. And I had petty fights and annoyances like everyone else.
The most serious ones in school were over girls. I weighed 220 lb from my soph year onward, and was an accomplished boxer, so I didn't get into too many physical fights...but I still had enemies.
As time passed, I found that most disagreements could be solved with a little diplomacy, even big-time serious financial probs. I went into the navy right outta high school, and when I returned, virtually every former school enemy now wanted to be a friend, and I accepted. One of the main reasons is that we were no longer competing for the affections of the same girls. And most of us are still friends.
I believe parta the growing process is to be able to resolve differences and compromise a little without a serious fight.
Here's what i'm getting at: I have been on almost every popular gaming site since the net began, and everyone's always treated me well. Mosta the people here and on GSHI were on the old GSC site, and I hope I have treated all of them well. I hate to see the major arguments that have come up between the GSHI folks & the ones here, and I'm wondering if the differences between them are too great to be worked out to the mutual benefit of everyone involved.
Now, I've never protested when others have taken the codes I posted on one site & posted them on another site. After all, I post my small contribution to retro-codes for the benefit of all gamers, and not for money nor an ego trip. And I DO realize that every internet community will attract its share of assbags whose sole intent is to make trouble so they can sit back & laugh. But I believe the main people both here and at GSHI are many levels above those losers, and I'm wondering that in the future, "can't we all just...get along?"
