On a more serious note, well question, as a student I have the right to learn in a class, that class should be free from trouble makers, noise makers and so forth, yes? Then if the teacher is incapable of keeping order in a classroom is it ok to complain? On one hand, I like the fella and don't want to have to run to the year head at with a problem but it happened last year and we got a very small amount of work done.

Eh, if it pisses you off enough, you could tell the guy you're trying to work, though he may blow you off.

Interesting, though I prefer the idea of doing something that will work, since my school is very small, about 200 students, we all know one another, which means the teachers aren't focused on teaching a class and getting out.
Year head should do enough. It's not just one guy, more like 90% the students seem to think that maths is for cathing up own gossip and believe that by raising thier voices they can tlak without anyone giving a damn, well off to write a complaint speech. Here's my opener: The class is nothing but a second lunch break, coupled with the fact that they complain that they can't learn when it is their own voices that can be heard.

A good start. If you think the teacher/staff will listen, that is. Myself and LMZ used to refer to public school as the False Educational Place...though occasionally there'd be a good teacher with something to teach.

It's not really the teachers, more so the students, to be honest if you took let's say five unruly students out of my maths class, they wouldn't be any problem. For some reason all the teachers like me, maybe it's my charm? Heh, either way I'm not waiting untill the mocks(warm-up tests) to prove that the class is failing. Maybe the old "boot down the door, cock a shotgun, point it at her and ask calmly for her to improve the classes" would work.
