  • HENkaku Ensō Coming Soon - Permanent #HENkaku

Think of it as an un-tethered jailbreak in which you don’t have to reapply HENkaku every time you load up your Vita.

Today developer Yifan lu released a form that lets you be a tester for this update. You might know that there exists the risk of brick to your console (a real, non negligible risk), but if you don’t mind and want to improve this future release, here’s is the link:

    https://t.co/aO3jUJ09vS

    The requirements are:

    PS VITA (1K/2K/TV)
    FW 3.60 (of course)
    HENkaku installed

If you want to be part of this go ahead, but you need to be sure about the risks that involves this. Stay tuned.

Signup for HENkaku Enso (Beta) available!

A few weeks ago Team Molecule announced they had been working on a permanent hack for PS Vita 3.60 running HENkaku, nicknamed Ensou. They subsequently invited people to join a beta for the hack, while insisting on the high risk of bricks for the beta.

In order to control distribution of the beta and prevent the risk of leaks, it appears the software was doing some checks (around for example the console ID) to prevent it from running on consoles that were not part of the beta. Given the significant risk of brick, it was probably the safest way Molecule team could ensure their software would not spread in the wild, bricking the console of unsuspecting users.

It now seems one of the beta testers has found ways to circumvent the ID checks, and leaked the beta online. Although we’ve been unable to found any actual download link so far, I’d strongly recommend people to not go that route if they want to use HENKaku Ensou. The risk of brick, once again, is very significant, even if the beta has made some significant progress over the past few weeks.

Instead I’d suggest to patiently wait for the actual release, which is just a few weeks away (the release date according to the official site is July 29th 2017).

HENkaku Ensō Beta allegedly leaked, we recommend NOT to install

Launching any executable on Enso bootup

Here is what the Author of the video had to say.

So I was playing around with HENkaku Enso (I like to live dangerously) and managed to make any *compressed* SELF executable start up on boot! 😀 Very interesting and I hope more people acknowledge this as we move closer to Enso’s release date.

The method seems easy enough, Voxel has left instructions as to how this was achieved.

Just pop “- spawnwait ux0ath/to/self.self” (no quotes) just before the shell.self spawn line in boot_config.txt and you should be good to go if you already have Enso!

Voxel has also left this as a disclaimer for anyone brave enough to pioneer modifying the boot process.

WARNING! Don’t try if you don’t know what it is, and make sure you only create paths to SELFs on ux0 (the memory card) just to be on the safe side of things. Always do this on a spare memcard because if you spawn an app on your memcard that doesn’t exit a different way other than the PS button, you won’t be able to use the memcard unless you format it via settings.

So naturally proceed to attempt this at your own risk.
