Yes thats what I mean, open the memory viewer and look at the address and the values. This method is a great way to see whats happening.

ive this sf alpha 3(psn vr)Originally posted by jin299 View PostHey again, I have a question to ask you Helder about a code for Street Fighter Alpha 3.
Any ideas on how this code was hacked, the code itself allows player 1 to play as Shin Bison, which in the game is a much powerful version of the original Bison, the difference between the 2 variations, are shin bison comes preloaded with, a new fight intro animation a new strong fierce heavy punch, along with a special new super combo.

Quick a question to ask you helder will the memory scanner allow me to view the values for the rest of address for the no charge code in real time too?
Also do you know how this code was hacked for the game, Because I was trying to hack the code, but couldn't seem to find the correct addresses for the code?

01 & 02 are pressed & hold back and down registered.Originally posted by jin299 View PostOkay I'll try and hack the code, now there's a problem I'm having hacking a code, for Street fighter Alpha 3,
No charge on attacks player 1
D11945D8 0000
50000208 0000
801945D8 0102
I tried hacking this code but couldn't find the correct address value's for the code, first I searched 16 bit code type , then I did unknown search, next I held the right button back for a second and then did a greater than search, but by the time I had carried out the, instruction, the code addresses had already fully loaded in the cheat engine? I didn't get a chance to follow the rest of the steps through, any idea why this problem keeps on occurring?
with memery viewer open you can see the changes realtimelee4 Does Not Accept Codes Requests !
When lee4 asks a question it does not mean lee4 will look at your game

He means:
No charge on attacks player 1
D11945D8 0000
50000208 0000
801945D8 0102
and like Lee4 said if you had the memory viewer open when you held back or down/back you would see the values change to what the code is currently set to. The other code for the bear hug looks like and ASM code which is beyond your skill at the moment since standard RAM codes are proving to be a challenge. I think you want the theory or idea of how someone found the code, and it all come down to observing the game and thinking of how it might be stored in memory and trying to find the code using guesses to how it was found. I can't tell you for sure anything since I didn't hack any of those codes but looking at the code in a memory editor and observing it I can figure out a way it was hacked.Spoiler Alert! I only assumed Helder you would be able to tell how these the of codes are hacked, because you have hacked your fair share of codes for Street Fighter games in the past for the psx platform, and I suppose the bear hug code Is far beyond my skill and knowledge, but hopefully someday when I become more experienced at hacking, I too will be able to learn how to hack my first ASM code, but I'm still haven't difficulty distinguishing the difference between what a ram code looks like and a ASM code. now as far as ram codes go yes I admit they are still are proving to be a challenge for me, but that's because hacking in general is still a new concept to me, but I am learning, like recently I decided I would just try and learn how to hack the simple codes in Street Fighter for Alpha 3, yeah know codes like score modifier infinite health, character modifiers, timer codes, control the cpu, etc just t get a feel for hacking, but I suppose Since you hacked this code maybe you could give me some advice on the issue,
Why does the code no charge need an D activator code enabled at the start of it?
Also I when I was was searching for the code I found I couldn't seem to get the timing down in order to successfully find the correct address for the code, is timing essential part of process when trying to hack a code of this nature?Last edited by jin299; 04-20-2013, 04:38:13 PM.

D are just there for safety reasons.
Example: active the code when and if value matches, deactive code when and if value does not matches.lee4 Does Not Accept Codes Requests !

It's simple! Do what I have been telling you throughout this thread and observe this address in realtime as you go to different menus and while in an actual battle to see what values it will have. Take the advice and actually look at the addresses and observe first then come ask us questions, whats the point of asking about something we have no idea about until we actually go look at it the same exact way we are telling you how to check it out yourself? Try putting some effort into looking at it yourself then come here for help, we can only spoon feed so much before you take that spoon yourself.
Sometimes the best way to make these codes because of having to to hold a direction and then clicking off the game on the search program is to freeze the game, some cheat programs allow the game to pause while you search or some emulators continue to hold a direction if you click off of it. These are what you need to find this code because how can you find the value for a charge if when you click off the emulator screen the direction being charged is set to neutral?Originally posted by jin299 View PostAlso I when I was was searching for the code I found I couldn't seem to get the timing down in order to successfully find the correct address for the code, is timing essential part of process when trying to hack a code of this nature?Spoiler Alert! No you misunderstood everything I said. The D activator go look at it in a memory viewer or reread my post. The neutral was referring to neutral on the control pad meaning its in the middle meaning your characters isn't moving, if he isnt moving back aka charging back then how can you search for the code if the value isn't changing?Spoiler Alert!
