  • Pokemon Gold and Silver Debug Menu help!!!?

Hi guys, I need help accessing the color test menu (debug menu) in Pocket Monsters Silver "Japanese Pokemon Silver".
I read online that you need to find the menu code, which is located in 3F:54F1. How do I do this? It also talks about setting CF21 to 0x00 for Pokemon Mode. What does that even mean? I'm using Visual Boy Advance.

TBH, I'm really confused. A step-by-step walkthrough would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Excerpt from Article
" Pokémon & Trainer Color Test Menu

This color test menu is basically a menu to easily change the color palettes of Pokémon, both normal and shiny palettes, and trainers as well as to conveniently list if a Pokémon is capable of learning a Technical Machine (TM) or Hidden Machine (HM). The menu code is located at 3F:54F1 in the Japanese ROM (v1.0 and v1.1) and the screen update service has to be enabled (register FFD6 must be checked). Other language version ROMs have the code as well, but due to the screen not being localized, graphic bugs ensue.

You have to select either Pokémon or trainer mode before loading the menu by setting CF21 to 0x00 for Pokémon mode and any other value for trainer mode. "

This is for Gameboy color I assume based on the addresses you provided, basically use the emulator like bgb which is easier to get to the correct address and then alter the value there to what they instruct you to do.

I can't figure this out! the CF21 is a ram address so a game shark code of this 01??21CF would work, just put 00 in the ?? or whatever number you want. The other code is a ROM code it has to be a Game Genie code but it doesn't have a stable compare value it is constantly changing and I also edited the actual Rom with a hex editor to see if changing that address would work and it never got the menu. So I'm giving up on this as there little to no info on whats what and changing the rom didn't to squat and in case you're wondering its the japanese rom I used.
