Noobies in making Raw Codes...

Hii...
I'm tired of waiting codes to be requested so I wanna do it myself and plan to contribute it as well..
However... there are certain things I would like to know before I need to move on with it...

1. I got considered to use Ps2rd or the Artemis, but based from your experiences, which would be prefer for newbie?
2. Is it possible to use pendrive to boot FreeMcBoot and uLaunchElf instead of Memory Cards? (Which ver of ULE to use?)
3. By doing all of these, thus will it permanently damage the PS2 hardware as in the lens?
( This is very important for me to know since I play games by Discs.. not by the HDD n I dun have one either.)
4. Can anyone show me a link how what's the Ethernet Adapater looks like?
5. Is it possible to save dump in pendrive?
6. I just wanna make Raw Codes, so by this, any advice of using the ps2cc?
7. How to get the codes I wanted, if to know which is which?
8. Eventually, how to put the FMCB, ULE, and probably the Ps2rd or Artemis into the Memory Cards if have to?
9. Lastly, if I don't have Ethernet Adapter, is it still possible to hack?

I know I asked a lot of stuffs and pretty annoying but ur help and experiences would greatly helpful.

They are the same thing, ps2rd is just it renamed and updated to newer versions that work better.

I don't know about uLE, but FreeMcBoot needs to be on the memory card to make the exploit work.

Nope.

Type this in google: "ps2 ethernet adapter". The first result I saw showed a picture of it on the back of an old fat ps2.

It's most likely possible, but I don't know if anybody has ever tried that. Did you mean ps2rd to dump data to the pendrive? If so, there is a version of ps2rd or artemis that did that, I just don't remember its exact name or the link to it.

Raw codes are just an address and a value. If you are using a cheat device, the first digit is a code type, and anything from there could be an address or value.

7. How to get the codes I wanted, if to know which is which?

Depends on what you are looking for. Say you are looking for a simple thing like how many bullets are in your weapon, you search for the exact amount, fire bullets, search for the new exact amount, and you'd quickly end up with 1 result. You'd have your address and you could give it whatever value you wanted.

8. Eventually, how to put the FMCB, ULE, and probably the Ps2rd or Artemis into the Memory Cards if have to?

FreeMcBoot had some kind of newbie pack I downloaded. I put a save file on my pen drive and used my cheat device to decompress and decrypt it. From there, restart your ps2 and be amazed.

9. Lastly, if I don't have Ethernet Adapter, is it still possible to hack?

There's pcsx2 and other software to use with it like cheat engine on the computer if you're new to it. For the oldest ps2 games, opening the game's elf file in ps2dis and going to labeled addresses is also useful for people new to it. Or from there, just "knowing" what to do and look for.

The IGMD able to run and launch the game, but I couldn't find the dump or have any dumps...
I followed the instruction given and so to say, it's not what it is...
How long does it take to take mass dumps? Thanks ^.^

I've never used mass dump before. You might want to ask misfire or some of the moderators on this site.

I have not used the USB dumper in a long time, but it takes a different amount of time for each game. Give it about 5 minutes to dump. Some games will resume game play. If your flash drive has an LED light, then wait for it to stop blinking. If it remains a solid color, then power-off the console when you can't wait anymore.

Have you tried the different versions of the dumper included in the package?

Thx for the reply. Well, when I plug in the pendrive and press the buttons to dump, the LED did flash only around 2-3 seconds and the game like lag for a while. After that, everything resume normal and stuff. When I do it again, it won't flash anymore. I think I waited for around 1-2 minutes, and when plug it out, and check it, Nothing! Perhaps I should wait longer... but thing is... how to know if the game is dumping or not? So far, I tried with Bujingai & Shadow of Rome. Both of these games, well... nothing happen so far... N FYI, I haven't try any versions yet.. cuz I thought the latest would be better. Hhmm...

If you want instant searching, use Cheat Engine and PCSX2. If you search between the addresses of 0x20000000 and 0x22000000, you'll be in the PS2's main EE RAM. So if you find a code at 0x20164fc8, for example, 0x00164fc8 will be the address of that same value in a normal PS2's RAM.

Thanks Wes for the simple tutorial but am looking for any possible means to have dumps into pendrive... last resort = Cheat Engine and PCSX2 unless I don't have any much choices... =X
