If one of you could write a step by step tutorial on hacking codes with Project Artemis and CL LiveDebug. None of these tools are working for me at all or atleast not the way they're supposed to.

I created some dumps with Artemis, opened it up in PS2CC and it doesn't do anything. It almost seems like it would be alot more simple to hack codes the old fashioned way just testing values over and over or dumping via the old fashion way with an 8mb Memory Card.

From what I understand Artemis is supposed to let you hack codes while you play the game? Well how is creating a dump supposed to do that? Also why is every dump 31 mb?

How I long for the days of GS Pro where you can test values on the fly and find whatever codes you thought of in minutes.

Can someone please OFFER support with either of these programs.

CL LiveDebug just flashes the fail safe menu over and over and doesn't do anything it says in the readme file.

Artemis dumps files to my USB, but I can't figure out what to do with them... It does not let you change memory on the fly like it claims. Gives me errors.

Artemis dumps 31 MB because that's how much RAM the PS2 has when you exclude the 1 MB kernel segment. Dumps and the procedures underlying them are important because the ability to retrieve the contents of RAM is a prerequisite to most of the common code-hacking activities. I haven't played with the recent Artemis builds, so I can't give you too much pertinent help beyond that. I seem to recall that you have to be careful that PS2CC and Artemis versions are in sync and that their setups are correct, but if you downloaded from the main repository, only the latter should be an issue.

These are works-in-progress. They may not be compatible with every game, for various reasons, and in their present states they require a fair amount of setup and tweaking to work well. You need to bear that in mind.

The idea is to make multiple dumps and compare them. In any case, you should try using the network-based Artemis builds, not the USB one, as that was mostly a proof-of-concept.

If you want something most likely to work out-of-the-box, just grab "Artemis Hacking System Package 3" from the Old section of the Project Artemis page.

"You know, it would be helpful" if you had an informative title for your thread. jk
Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

Thanks. I'm going to give it one last shot with that System Package 3.
