Game Genie Hacking

How do you hack GG Codes, I want to learn..like how can I tell where is the Value like Lives are in SMB Rom, Coins & what not..

Depends exactly on what system you plan to hack for, snes/nes are very similar so if you learn one you could do the other no problem.

I can show you some snes/nes game examples, but first you need to know how to hack regular ram codes or have the code for what you want to make (the DB here should have plenty). Tell me a game for snes and also nes and I will show you how to make GG codes for it from a ram code. There are plenty of guides around here to help also like many that Tony Hedstrom has made that will point you in the right direction as well.

MESS emulates all of the above (+100s more). One cheat engine and one debugger (the best of any emulator by far) to learn and you are good to go, you'll need to pick up a little assembler knowledge to get started though (6502, z80 + 68000 for the above).

GG Infinite type cheats are a breeze to make, eg. find the ram location for lives is 0xbeef just type wp beef,1,w in the debugger and restart the game, lose a life and the debugger will kick in and it will be placed at the address after the lives decrement....simples.
