First of all, hacking isnt't for everyone.
People can pick up on it quickly, and people can quickly get fraustrated (like me :P ). Time and patience is the key to this.

First of all you want to learn the basics like Master Codes (YOU MUST LEARN IT), Hz Codes, X and Y Fixes, etc. the faster you pick up on the basics the easier codes will seem to make. Oh yeah if you hack GBA codes, PS2 hacking will seem pretty similar without the code search and all.

There is alternative, easier method for hacking PS2.
By using PCSX2 (emulator for PS2) and ps2haste (cheat tool) with the help of any pc game hack.

I can use available armax code for pcsx2, and can create new one only by comparing value of some address.

Yes, PS2 emulation has come a ways recently. And due to the work of guys like misfire (and, I believe, the CMP team), we have ways of converting from raw hex to respective encryptions, and back.

we can use real PS2 gamesave in PCSX2 thanks to them too.

With that tool I can play GT4 with all car game save (ps2 save builder & launchelf), and use available cheat code to get started (max convert), and apply or create new code (phaste).
