And for those with a Macintosh... I use ResEdit and BBedit. they both work on games and roms. Almost any file you have access to on a Mac can be edited through them. I caution though... ResEdit has similar effects as RegEdit if you start messing with system files. been there done that.

Proper use of disassemblers?

I got PSPad once, but then I deleted it because I just didn't use it. It seems very useful, but I didn't use it.
I got Win32Pad, and it opened the file in about 1/4 the time Notepad2 took. While looking at the disassembly (I couldn't make out half of what it said, my hacking skills are rusty and I'm not the ASM guy), I saw places where a move instruction would repeat and repeat. I understand why a nop instruction or a dc instruction would repeat, but the instruction was the following: "move.l -(a0),d0". I'm not expecting an asm lession here, but does anyone here that knows 68k the reason why that happens?
