  • [PS3] Eboot Cheat Help

So I'm trying to make an eboot for the following game: BCUS99144 (God Of War Ascension) (Patch 1.12) and having zero luck getting the codes to work. I'm on Rebug 4.81 (CEX)

I've been using the guide http://gamehacking.org/vb/threads/87...Maker-Released to add the following code for Infinite Health:
    0062D040 6C656400
    0062D044 C0230218
    0062D048 D0230214
    0062D04C 3C800003
    0062D050 4B9FAB68
    00037BB4 48605490
In Aldos Tools it does say eboot compatible. I'm running from disc, and replacing my supposedly modded cheat eboot into HDD:0\Game\BCUS99144\USRDIR\ replacing the eboot that is there. (I believe this is the correct folder for my update as the param.sfo says 1.12) However nothing changes and the code does not work.

I've tried both Artemis and CCAPI but in both when I activate this code it freezes, and I have to flip the power switch on the back to do a full boot. Hence my wanting to just do an eboot cheat and be done with it. Does any one have any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

Edit: I just noticed that I'm using a slightly different version than the codes are for, however in Artemis I did have red orbs maxed and infinite double jumps working fine on this copy. Both this and BCUS98232 (which the codes are for) still freeze my console the same.

    2 things:

    1. That's vosman's code for supposedly version 01.00, and you're on 1.12 so the odds of compatibility are extremely low. Codes would likely need porting and I'm not doing it because that game has competitive online.

    2. You'd still need to subtract hex 10000 from the addresses of all lines to get the address in the decrypted eboot.elf.

Thanks for the input I've now tried this:

After making sure I was back to 1.00 (deleted all patch related data) I then double checked that I did remeber to subtract 10000 from all the addresses. With my own game disc, nothing changes, no effect, was worth a shot given it's the black label disc. So I took the CLANDESTiNE release (BCUS98232), and worked with the eboot from it.

Now all I get is a black screen right before it would warn me about update 1.12 being available. (Before I modded the eboot it would boot and play fine) I also tried using both Artemis and CCCheaterX, both can connect fine but once I load infinite health it locks. The main menu of the game says 1.00.

However I have the duplex EU release and the codes work just fine with CCCheaterx (yet to try Artemis).

Any ideas? I know I can just keep using the EU one I have, but I'd still like to figure this out incase it's just something I'm too blind to see. Thanks!

I'd imagine it's simple but I know there's those few games with very specific picky settings. de Blob 2 required the header info not to be skipped, Crysis games work if they are set to software instead of game, and whatever else for various games. Does the game work if you just decrypt and re-encrypt it again without any kind of modifications to it? That's the 1st step. If that works, either the codes are bad or for a different version or done wrong somehow. If that doesn't work, it's one of those games with annoying picky settings you'd need to figure out until you can get it to boot without codes.

I never even thought I should try de-crypt then re-encrypt the eboot. Should have been the first thing I did. I tried that now and it does not work. The file sizes shrinks by quite a lot (from about 8mb down to around 75k) so chances are that's a large part of my issues. Thanks for the help, it's gotta be an isolated issue on my end causing problems will take a look and see.
