Hello.
I'm looking into swapping ROM data of the PC Steam version (maybe it could also be valid for the console versions in hacked systems) of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara, especifically regarding the Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara game. The game seems to store most of both games' data in data/zip folder, distributed in several zip files like an arcade emulator would do (which is pretty much what this is obviously) while the music seems to be streamed from the data/sound folder and the rest of folder content seem to focus in the postprocessing effects and also the HUD interface that allows to you to play and setup both games.
The fact is, these releases of Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara seem to be multiligual, based on the original translations done by Capcom for the arcade releases, but not up to a fully extent. While Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom uses an European release which was available in five languages (English, German, French, Spanish and Italian), Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara on the other hand uses an European release which was limited to three languages (English, German, French). And I don't know about Italian, but there's actually a Spanish version of this game too, released as a separate "Hispanic" version.
So what I would like to do is patching the necessary the files from the Hispanic version (dd2h.03a, dd2h.04a, dd2h.05a, dd2h.06a, dd2h.07a) into the roms/main.rom file that's inside "ddsom_essentials.wad.zip" (located in data/zip folder) but I don't know how to handle with the encryption. I have looked in several sources trying to find the answer but it seems nobody is really interesting in researching/hacking this collection. I got the feeling it's not that complicated to do but some research is required to open the necessary data files.
If someone with the game and the necessary skills could please look into this matter, it would help a lot. Thanks.
