Question about PS3 Fat model jailbreaking and third-party cheat software

I apologize if there was already a thread for this but I couldn't find it if there was and I searched to the best of my personal ability.

Okay so here's the issue..... I have been trying to teach myself how to jailbreak my PS3 for quite some time now. I've looked at tutorials online, I've read instructions posted on forums and I've even attempted to do it myself so as not to be lazy and just say I can't do it.

The actual instructions for "how" to jailbreak and stuff sounds like something I could follow step by step if I really focused but my biggest issue is that I can't find the right place to actually download the correct jailbreak software for the 3.55 (which is what I have to downgrade my recently updated system back to).

After that I also need to find a place to download some kind of cheat software onto my PS3 that hopefully will have already preloaded codes for the Ratchet & Clank Future games. But even then that's just a far flung hope because right now I can't even find the right places to download what I need.

Can anyone either tell me where I need to download what it is I need or heck, if someone wants to make some extra money I'll even send you my PS3 in the mail and pay you to do it for me!

It's also worth mentioning that I am NOT an online gamer so I have no desire to use a jailbroken PS3 to cheat against anyone. I also have no intentions or desires whatsoever to use a modded system to do illegal things like download games for free or whatever other things you can with a jailbroken console.

The only reason I want to do this is so I can cheat single player on the PS3 Ratchet games and hopefully maybe even the one Sly Cooper game that was made for this system. I am not a hacker or a dishonest person, I just want to get the most out of my games and cheat on them like I used to be able to do for the PS2 games with things like Action Replay and Codebreaker.

You guys are way smarter at this than me and if anyone could help me I would gladly, gladly accept it and be extremely appreciative. If you're sitting on an official Sony firmware higher than 3.55, you can't downgrade. For those moments I hop on ps3hax.net or other places that have users that downgrade for a fee.

For cheating options, 3.55 has CodeUnique which would be perfect if it didn't crash 1/2 the time you enter it and crash 1/2 the time you exit it leaving 2 potential places it can crash just to even run it and can't be used higher than 3.55 making it a piece of garbage. I used to update its database but I can't just make a database for a tiny crowd of 3.55 using CodeUnique. The only thing CodeUnique has on anything is that it has the button activator code type, nobody's replicated that yet.

Eboot modding is the 100% compatible with all games method and works on all custom firmwares, but everybody hates that and wants anything other than that. There's lots of tools for decrypting and encrypting files. People also need to guess on how to encrypt things back into a working eboot. Most games are the same but there's many exceptions.

Above 3.55 custom firmware everything else works. There's a lot of tools to modify the game while playing it if it has a computer connection. I'm converted to DEX and use NetCheat, others could use EbootModder or PS3EMPM or many other things for that purpose.

There's also Artemis for PS3, the only time somebody has mentioned an issue with it so far is Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes. I have the most updated database posted on these forums somewhere for it.

Well like I said, I just upgraded my PS3 to the 4.80 firmware when my cousin suggested I do it for jailbreaking, which turned out to be a mistake I guess. Mind you I have one of the original PS3's, a Fat model, like I said before.

So, lemme ask this. Since no one has hacked a working patch yet for the higher firmwares like the 4.80 for instance, am I now pretty much unable to jailbreak my system unless I pay to have it downgraded back to a 3.55? I mean, yeah I could do that, but from what you're telling me all the cheat options for the 3.55 custom firmware sucks major eggs so I don't even think I should do that.

If jailbreaking that way is out of the question for me now, what would you recommend I do to cheat on my games? I will tell you for information's sake that I do have my system connected to the internet, I do not have an account with PlayStation Network and the few games I have for the PS3 are all on disks. Meaning that I didn't download them from anywhere, I actually bought them at Gamestop.

Hell, the only games I ever took the time to own are all the Ratchet & Clank games that came out on the PS3, Spyro Dawn of the Dragon, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, The Incredible Hulk and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. So yeah..... not many But all games I would love to cheat on.

I'm also really simple when it comes to cheating. The only codes I would honestly love to have for those games are infinite health, infinite money/upgrade points/etc, infinite ammo (which would only apply to me for the Ratchet games I previously mentioned) and, if at all possible, a moon jump code for the Ratchet games. I know some people like using really weird codes that are a lot harder to find/hack/make but not me.

What would you recommend, for a guy like me that has the set-up I just laid out to you, and how would you suggest I do it?

Once you get on the offocial 3.55 firmware, you can install any custom firmware you want, like rebug 4.80 or whatever there is out there.

Better yet, do you know of anyone who would do all of it for me for a fee? 'Cause I definitely don't mind paying just to get this done so I can play my damn games the way I want to.

There is a game genie save editor for PS3 that you can use and you don't have to mod your system to use it. The list of compatible games are at this link:

Yeah you know I've got a Game Genie and an Xploder for the PS3 but the problem is, it doesn't have all the codes for the games I own that I would like for it to. Now, I know you can technically create new codes for the Game Genie but I don't know how to do it.

Any ideas? Or maybe a tutorial??

Hey guys I'm just curious here but..... just how many codes for the Ratchet games on PS3 have you actually seen? Like, in all cheating systems you know of.

At this point I'm making codes for the last Ratchet And Clank game that I previously didn't do before. There's various things I've found across games. Some you can hold X to fly, all have invincibility and infinite health codes, some have all weapons and instant max upgrading, some have all gold bolts and skills or other stuff like that, some unlock cheats and other things, take a glance around.

I still have a few more codes to post for Ratchet And Clank All 4 One that I haven't posted yet, I haven't completed the game yet.

Now what cheat system were these codes on predominately for the Ratchet PS3 games? Specifically the infinite health, ammo and "fly" code??

Whatever cheat system it is I'll focus on finding a way to use that one. And dude, this probably just goes to prove my stupidity at this stuff but I spent months (no joke) trying to find those same codes myself and narrow down to what cheat system I need to use but each time I've come up empty handed completely. I've even checked this site.

The only codes I've ever found for the PS3 Ratchet games are Max Bolts/Raritanium ones that are preloaded onto the Game Genie. Maybe I'm just not searching in the right places because that's likely.
