  • Any interest in a DMA Tutorial?

    Hey guys,

I'm sure no one knows me at all anymore around here. I was part of the CES game hacking team (we were found on gamehacking.com back then) about 16 years ago (I believe it was about that long! Time flies). I was also part of other teams of which the names have lost me (give me a break ok!).

Anyhow, I recently started playing Binding of Isaac afterbirth, and couldn't help myself but hack it like the old days. Of course this game was DMA, and had to re-read my old friend sheeps tutorial which I luckily found online since I probably haven't spoken with him in about 15 years. I have to say - 16 years after I read it, it is confusing as hell. Also, softice doesn't like windows 10

I worked through it, but then I realized, there are no good tutorial these days for this. Would there be any interest if I made a youtube video for this or would I be wasting my time? I know this used to be a topic that would confuse lot of people - since I've been out of the loop for so long I don't know where people are at anymore.

    Let me know!

edit: CES may actually have been on gamehacking.org - It's been so long I can't remember!

I would love a tutorial on DMA!
      I'm retired from code hacking.

Tried Cheat Engine yet? It's far better.

Cheat Engine is a little too complicated for me. I used it to hack Resident Evil 4. I would like to know how to make a trainer using Cheat Engine, however.

I use CE for emulators mostly, rarely ever attmpt pc game hacking, but CE makes it very easy to do so.

Sorry to revive this thread, but im interested in learning how to hack DMA for the 3ds. I have made a few codes which can be found on the net. Ive used several pointer searcher programs and have wasted the last 5 days of my life trying to figure out how to create pointer codes for myself. So yes, I would love a tutorial for 3ds DMA if anyone is willing to share. Or if not, then if someone is willing to teach me how to calculate the differences between the two addresses I found to be able to make my own pointers I would be very grateful. Cheers.

                    [UPDATE]

so I guess I should mention that even though I don't know how to tackle DMA on the 3ds itself, I do however know how to create pointer codes that defeat this purpose (as far as im concerned anyway) I don't know if im allowed to post links to outside websites otherwise I would.

This would be good for some people. But coming from me, I would like to make one but I only code for psp. If any of the games uses mips or asm then I'm sure you might get it. Just tryin to think how to make one that will make sense to everyone for all gaming platforms

I would very much enjoy a tutorial like this for the psp. I would enjoy for any platform to be honest but psp.....this would have come in handy 2 years ago. Thanks in advance for your interest.
